Regards the part in bold, so you do advocate not facing it and instead living literally in a fantasy bubble? The reality is, that for some people the virus is deadly, for most it isn't. What were currently doing is literally hiding from it in lockdown bubbles and hoping it goes away.

 

That's not to say that isn't the right thing to do btw and I appreciate your post and respect that you only post things you've read and believe to be from a solid factual source. But to accuse others of hiding and living in bubbles but being supportive of the current measures seems somewhat contradictory.

I don't entirely agree, I think large parts of China's economy is still quite socialist in its make up. State owned companies competing as though they were private still retains that wealth for the state. China's public services are in the main all state owned. It's maybe not reflective of the communist states we've seen elsewhere but I don't think it's completely at odds with Marxist theory. 

 

Agree with how it treats it's citizens which is why I qualified it on how you view success. It's been success in create a huge centrally controlled economy.

Agreed, I feel it's successful in a different way to China, as you say in terms of health and education. It's hard to say whether it would be more economically successful than it has been without foreign interference. But I'd still say it is a success, albeit in a very different (and better imo) way than China in achieving its aims. Success may look very different for a socialist state than what we in the west see as success (not suggesting you don't recognise that btw as you clearly do).

432 yesterday in the USA. Obviously plummeting. Only represents about 5% of normal daily deaths in the States. With the majority of Covid patients asymptomatic, as the initial panic recedes it will be treated as just another virus.

To be honest, I wouldn't place too much faith in any country's death figures. Last week in the UK there were 230 official deaths with Covid mentioned, even if it wasn't the cause, yet the govt reported double that amount. All down to the fact they report every death for anyone who has had Covid and die of any other cause. Absolutely crazy.

You interpret her words as if that is the case but all it means is that players etc will abide by the covid rules as set out NOT special rules

 

The only thing she could make a point about was the 4 household 'rule' and that is the truth..she got lucky on that one and notice not once has anyone told us about those special rules you claim before during and afterwards

 

Hearts players were not told of these 'special rules' nor were other clubs players..and yes I do know that as a fact

 

So we can go on and on about it being right or wrong for players to visit a pub or restaurant but there are and were no special rules for footballers other than what applies to all of us re distancing etc.

 

I've no doubt clubs will now be giving players all sorts of advice re being out in public after the recent events...just last week we had 3 players out in public from 3 different households having a drink..no rules were broken and no fuss created other than the usual suspects trying to create controversy by not knowing the 'rules'

They definitely broke the rules but the rule makes no sense as they are effectively all from the same household in terms of risk, given they'll be on close proximity and having physical contact every day at training so not really sure how going out as an 8 or 8 individuals really makes any difference to their risk of catching or passing on the virus.

I think someone just actually called you out for your own Trumpism in a post .  I am facing reality but with a healthy  degree of positiveness.  You aren't. Im reading the stats which Nicky Thomson posted about the incredible drop of hospital admissions from the beginning of March to now. Plummeting by nearly 96% .  Thats reality.  Your thinking of what will happen in the future and the truth is we dont know what shall happen with this virus in the future.  After all who would have predicted hospital admissions plummeting so drastically.  Certainly not Neil Ferguson who said there would be a death rate of around 500. 000.  I'm not painting  a " rosy picture" I'm interpreting the stats for hospital admissions and deaths and that fills me with hope that things are turning the corner with this virus.  Lord knows what your basing your future analysis  regarding the virus.  Im certainly in no fantasy bubble and if i am its  a happy place just now.

That IS my argument.  That we need to treat all announced figures , and scientific modelling, with a great deal of scepticism. For those who have lived lockdown by graphs and bar charts, that might prove to be a problematic inconvenience.
