Folk are feart of the day they've never seen.

I think about covid twice a day.

Once when I nip out to the shops and clock everyone cutting about in masks like a scene from some dystopian nightmare, and second when I log on here for a scan at the to-and-fro between the panic merchants and the wind up merchants.

Doesn't even cross my mind in the boozer or the restaurant as the extra space is actually quite pleasant.

I'd assume plenty of folk are the same.

:spoton:

I was cracking up months ago and basically broke the lockdown weeks before we were told to. I just couldn’t live that way I hadn’t seen barely a soul for two months. Add the booze and whatnot into the mix and I was gonna end up not well mentally. Im not stupid about it I wear a mask when I have to etc and I wash my hands regular (I always did tbf) but I’m in the boozer first chance I get and have eaten out etc.
I’m not saying I want to catch it or anything like that but everything they open up I’ll be there if it’s up my street. I’d have been out to my place in Spain if they hadn’t enforced this quarantine thing too. Hopefully in a month or two I’ll get out there as well.

He's apparently about to announce that the pilot of allowing fans in sports venues is abandoned.

I thought I had a good appreciation of the depths of stupidity existing in some people... and then along comes Walter Bishop.

More generally,   it's difficult to see where this is going next.   We have very low numbers in Scotland and other things are positive.   Schools are going back and other measures continue to be rolled back per the route map.    But at the same time we see these localised problems in England and rising incidence throughout Europe.

The overall vista is a bit muddled right now.

Totally agree. You and your 5 pals could share all your data from behind your couches. 👍

Leaves the rest of us to get on with our lives whilst discussing an illness that will likely have no effect on 99.94% of us.

Aye OK, Karen. 😁

No, the NHS should have had better measures in place to contain the spread in hospitals, such as those they have now.

With the benefit of hindsight, that's easy for you to say now.

Back in February/March the NHS had no real idea how things were going to pan out, how on earth can you plan fully for something which you have no real idea how bad it's going to get.

The Internet

The Karen thing has run its course I think. As with all vaguely funny Internet fads, as soon as the facebook populace gets hold of it and it starts appearing on actual mainstream news sites it's ruined and well past its sell by.

I’d love to take you up on your offer, but we’re going out with two other families already this evening.

So sorry.

I can’t say I give no ****s about COVID but other than having to take a few extra precautions. it is what it is. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’ll deal with it and go about living my normal life. Life is for living and I plan to make the most of my short time on this planet. That does not involve me living in fear of some virus, if even I was to catch the odds are massively in my favour.

And that was for a flu pandemic.

Covid ain't the flu, how can you plan for something which is new to science.

It was an exercise designed to see how we would cope with a pandemic, very similar and was actually made to be alot worse than this ever will be. We should have taken alot from it, we never.

How can so many predict a 2nd wave based on a previous flu if its not a flu?

This is where hibs have excelled in ingenuity.
Mums, Dads, Sons, Daughters, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, cousins and grandparents can all meet up at a pub now and all fit at a table of 6.

Easy, because it's what virus' within the Coronavirus family tend to do, they come in waves.

And as you know Influenza & Coronavirus' belong to two completely different virus family's, but do share certain similar characteristics, such as being respiratory and coming in waves, often seasonal.

Anyone see C4 news tonight ?

Krishnan G-M was interviewing an epidemiologist who took great exception to a line of questioning on his alleged hypocrisy ending with "C4 news is welcome to join the legal action *" and then "this interview is over".

Anyone know what this is about - I don't know the name of the interviewee but he's supposedly based in Edinburgh ?

* I think he was threatening libel proceedings on C4.

Out tomorrow for lunch with the family, nice steak establishment at the West End. We’re all really looking forward to it. We enjoy the extra space, reduced noise, improved hygiene etc.

If anyone is giving people from other households a lift in a car, then you all must wear face masks and keep windows open as it’s unlikely you will be 2m apart
