A while back when I posted on here about the disproportionate deaths of London bus drivers I was told by someone that he had only heard about it on JKB, with clear implication I was making it up.

 

And to date I have seen no real explanation of this anomaly, bus drivers being relatively (eg compared to supermarket workers) isolated from the public with relatively small numbers of shorter duration contacts with greater distancing and screening.

 

Yet you are willing to convict the government (every government) with the benefit of hindsight of mass murder of transport workers when no-one predicted it or can to this day explain it. 

 

What should the government (every government)  have done in your view, even with the benefit of hindsight. Closed public transport so that essential workers including nurses and hospital cleaners and catering staff and so on could not get to work. Or should the government have had huge stocks of PPE equipment available for everyone working with or close to the public in anticipation of the impact of  this virus coming along?

If the NHS wasn't treated like a religion in this country, we would be able to have cross party discussions about how to fund it going forward. It needs a complete overhaul and a move towards a hybrid system that works so well in Germany and other European countries. Free at the point of delivery for those who need it and, for those that can afford it compulsory medical insurance. And for tourists and others who use it as an international health service....you pay..

There must be words and other Scottish politicians that you could have as first minister.

Certainly none of the other leaders .

Shes definitely a very competent and top bracket politician.

So it's not a case of words failing you it's a case of any argument against that failing you.

I could go on at some length on this drawing on some relevant personal experience but without diverting the topic further … it seems obvious to me  that we are not maximising the potential of young people as a whole with a system which positively discriminates in favour of those whose parents are rich and privileged over those whose parents are not.

The people who came up with the Herd Immunity theory was Cummings and BJ, Neil Ferguson showed common sense and managed to get them to abandon it because it would’ve caused far more people to die. As for the rest of the scientists, when Cummings takes a Google Executive along to SAGE meetings i would imagine it’s quite disconcerting. 
The UK government had a training exercise four years ago and not only failed to implement it but have also ignored what’s worked in other countries. Even the right wing MSM are after them, PIERS MORGAN is criticising them ffs.

The herd immunity theory is well established over centuries. Chris Whitty and Jason Leitch both publicly supported this plan before Ferguson revealed his customary cataclysmic forecast. Given how wrong he was with his modelling on Foot & Mouth, SARS and Swine Flu , I don't think he's worth listening to tbh. The Swedes ran his modelling and ditched it. They've subsequently been vindicated.  Tory bashing is far easier than looking at the facts though.
