I like it . Not at all pretentious . Now heading into town 👍

It’s a great wee pub and Callum’s a good guy. Spent many an hour after matches in the wee cubby through the back and a few singsongs at the karaoke.

To be fair to them, ****ing deal with it. 2 hours in the cold to get their jab so they don’t die of COVID seems like a bit of a no brainer.

Sick of everyone moaning about how they’re being personally affected by having to get a free jab. Old people are most at risk. Get the ****ing jab (applies to everyone tbf).

I’m beyond the point of feeling any pity for unvaccinated people who clog up our hospitals now.

Great post, not.

I went to get mine (made appointment) , ended up waiting in a massive queue so I asked how long the wait - at least an hour. I asked how do we get to the point of an hour wait if there's an appointment system ? Didn't get an answer.

Upshot I walked and my wife has cancelled her appointment at same pleace next week as she'd need to take 2-3 hours off work - just for a jab.

Extrapolate that across the population.   A massive waste of time because no one can be arsed to manage an appointments system.

On top of that we have  locations such as pharmacies & GP surgeries where there is nowhere near the level of car parking required (if any at all) so some locations simply aren't usable.

Went to The Pyramids at Bathgate on Friday, no queues in and out in 20 mins.

That was my 3rd jab, got Moderna after the first two being Astra Zenica

I went to the Pyramids today before the match.  Long queue - had quite a wait and the car park was stowed.

Hearing this now I am so glad I rearranged my booster for Monday.

Especially as I am still struggling to deal with the mess from my jab in March.  (Which in hindsight given the emotional fallout meant that the risks were more than the benefit)

The simple solution is two queues, one for fixed appointments and the other for drop-ins, with priority given to those with appointments, or have dedicated vaccination stations for each queue.

Anytime there is no-one in the appointment queue you take someone from the drop-in queue.

There are no drop in facilities  anywhere In Lothian Health Board for flu and/or booster jabs. The issue causing queuing is resulting from 2 things. 1. A massive reduction in the number of retained vaccinators and 2. Government driving deadlines that simply cannot be met. Everyone in the programme knows they can’t be met. Everyone in the programme is horrified at the way the elderly are being herded into centres for hours. It’s a shambles. Everyone knows it’s a shambles and it’s down to government not listening to what the NHS are telling them is happening on the ground. It’s down to a ludicrous decision to take flu vaccines away from GP surgeries amongst other ludicrous decisions like refusing to continue funding the rental of EICC and extend the temp contracts for a huge number of vaccinators.

No, just turned up.

I had an appointment for the 8th. I calculated that to be too early, so I didn't go. The nurse confirmed I was correct and would not have got my jab.

Cases appear to be plummeting UK wide. Along with the new world leading treatments  available, it's all looking positive. I doubt anyone knows for sure whether flu will reappear so I think we're in a good place heading into winter.

How liberating it is to stand at a bar, or sit in a restaurant without obsessing about Covid.

I doubt very much that you were ever sitting somewhere obsessing about Covid!!

I am very hopeful that once through winter all of this will be behind us, in terms of restrictions or masks etc.

Reading this morning about the booster and that we all need to get it so we can enjoy Christmas ( sounds familiar)

Anyway they say the reason is because immunity begins to wane after 6 months so boater tops up our protection.

Does that mean we need a booster every 6 months 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Higher efficacy and fewer bad reaction outcomes and issues are the main reasons. Also there is very little AZ left in the UK (it’s mostly been shipped to 3rd world countries) small stock kept for those that can’t have Pfizer.

Today's headline stats. I strongly suspect something may be off with the vaccination numbers. :)

Scottish numbers: 7 November 2021

Summary

  • 2,908 new cases of COVID-19 reported [-341; up from 2,513 a week ago]
  • 27,540 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results [-11,612]
    • 11.1% of these were positive [+2.4%]
  • 2 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive (noting that Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends) [-22]
  • 57 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19 [+2]
  • 793 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19 [-30]
  • 4,321,382 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 3,914,425 have received their second dose [+32; +28]

Hot stats, part deux. Note that there are no 7-day vaccination stats due to the data issues earlier this week (negative vaccinations, indeed) and there won't any be for a while until those issues are pushed off the end of the stats, perhaps even longer if today's very low numbers are another correction for historical errors.

Thank you for your continued efforts. Good to see some recovery in the North East. Also been interesting to see a number of negative stories in the local press saying hospitals are in a really bad way with covid patients and a lot of NHS workers coming on saying that is scaremongering and just not true.

I'll need to post the trend stats in two separate chunks to avoid there being loads of N/A's. Firstly, the case, positivity rate and council area stats. Changes are from 1 November to today and the colour coding shows the average daily change since that date. Apologies if there are any errors - my spreadsheet is currently a mess due to all these data issues we've been having.
