I disagree with that. Good decision-making always involves looking at the worst-case as well as the best-case scenarios, and of course the range of scenarios in-between. We can't sugar coat the data just to keep people blissfully unaware and content with doing nothing.

When will the surge in cases from England's unlocking flood into the figures? Next Monday roughly?

Apart from the fact you haven't spotted the deliberate trap I laid with these references, oh and also apart from your belief that you can just dismiss inconvenient facts as "pretentious", apart from that - hang on, and apart from you not patiently correlating other studies and working your way through the claims and evidence to arrive at a logical, fact-based conclusion, apart from all that, if you were to apply the same scathing cynicism to the stuff you read on the conspiracy sites - you'd be taking a massive step towards proper, critial thinking.  👏

Sturgeon floundering after falling foul of the now common error or saying one thing and then later saying you actually meant something else.

They really need to learn to say what they mean first time out.

'Nicola Sturgeon said the target was to offer first doses, not provide them, by July 26. In a Covid-19 update to parliament she had said the Government "expected" to have given second doses to all people in that age group by that date'

Expecting something to happen that is at the behest of people taking it up through choice is never a smart move. The criticism is unwarranted though as to missing targets.

I know restrictions have been more or less lifted in a lot of states.

My sister lives in Louisville Kentucky and they've not been required to wear a mask for months now.

Saying that, her whole family has had Covid, all with mild or no symptoms

Like everywhere else they have seen a surge in the Delta variant, although it's been disproportionately high in Florida. State wide mandates were lifted on July 1st, but schools and private businesses are able to have whatever restrictions they want.

See when the flu mysteriously disappeared.  Turns out it didn't.

I don't think anyone seriously believes that flu disappeared in winter nor that it will come "roaring" back or "rampage" through the country this winter.

In late 2019, scientists were scaremongering about how bad the forthcoming flu wave was going to be before they found something else to focus on.

For every extreme anti-vax conspiracy theorist there are equally extreme control freak behavioural psychologists like Susan Michie or scientists who won't travel abroad until 2023. Swings and roundabouts.

Sounds like the snake oil salesmen will be doing a roaring trade selling fake remedies, I mean, if some of the crowd mis-trust doctors & nurses so much then they wouldn't be hypocritical and visit a doctor or nurse when they have something wrong with them............wouldn't they?

Good point jim. It’s all pretty sad tbh.
James O’Brien done a podcast the other day with the inventors of the AZ vaccine and it’s a decent listen and explains how they got it to the masses so quickly and explain the ingredients too like the often quoted garbage about dead embryos and mercury being in vaccines.

Its only 50 minutes too which isn’t too bad.

You got any evidence to back up the IQ of people that are anti lockdown.

Please don't say Right said Fred....

I didn't say people who are anti lockdown are thick.

I am saying that the thick ****s who applauded the other thick ****s on stage at the rally for your chaps, are thick as utter ****. And on the same side as you.

The idiots they thought deserved a mic! 😂

Is there anything else I've said that you'd like to misrepresent?

See when the flu mysteriously disappeared.  Turns out it didn't.

That's not what it says at all 🤣

Genuinely, stop just swallowing whatever you read because it suits your narrative. Do some research that you tell everyone else to do ffs.

It's a good point, if they had a  broken leg even these delusional types wouldn't watch a YouTube video as a substitute for medical attention, but when it comes to a virus and vaccines suddenly YouTube trumps everything.

Although sometimes doing you're own research doesn't work out.

On the positive side the pressure should be off the NHS if all the science deniers actually put their money where their mouths are and don't avail themselves of the NHS' medical services.

So one type of PCR test, which was given Emergency Use Authorisation in Feb 2020, and was only capable of identifying Covid19, is being discontinued in favour of other PCR tests that are already in use and can differentiate between Covid19 Influenza A and Influenza B viruses.

That sounds exactly what you would expect to happen in the developement of improved testing capability.

There is no suggestion of any misdiagnosis of influenza as Covid in the link provided.

You are either deliberately misrepresenting what the report says or you are incapable of interpreting what it actually says.

Are you saying it can distinguish between flu and covid?
