Bollocks, everyone had to go and ruin it for those of us being responsible. My partner and I don't live together and now it will be against the rules to go to each other's houses which after a week of self-isolating (barring 1 trip to the shop) to make sure neither of us had it is pretty depressing.

Iv'e been self isolating for the last fortnight. My partner thought I was crazy for the first few days, now she understands.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.

Yes. You should only do it if 'absolutely necessary'. But you get to decide that yourself.

Cheers👍

So shops shut and no gatherings is the extent of the ‘lockdown’

Go on your exercise with a bag on your back tomorrow and stay there for the 3 weeks then.

It's a good shout...the only issue is we both stay in flat so can't really both work from the same home as we'll be shouting over each other on the phone 😂

Don't let this weekends goings on and the charade that "if youndon't behave it will need to get tougher" fool you.

This was always inevitable. From 2 weeks ago.

They've been doing it gradually.

But seems it was decided 2 weeks ago.

I went to to Asda at the Jewel today about 4pm and it was practically normal, if anything - actually bit quiet.

Got everything I wanted easily.

my click and collect from Asda was spot on today (apart from no milk) and the car park wasn’t even half full. Was surprised.

We had stuff in the basket reserved for collection tomorrow at Argos.

Board games, puzzles etc for the kids.

Looks like it'll be homeschool, exercise, fortnite on repeat for them.

Not many people get to live (or not live) through this kind of history.    World wars is really the only thing close.    This is much bigger than the world wars imo.

Will be very different the next couple of days. Everywhere felt weirdly quiet today, calm before the storm.

Just watched Nicola on the Nine and she said you should not be going to work unless it's is essential and she will be talking to employers to explain to them what is essential

What a half hearted attempt at a lock down.

We need better.

Exercise once a day ?

Shop as little as possible ?

You decide if you want to go to work ?
The public has not responded well to requests in the past.

It is a sham. He knows he has no police to enforce this.

When is the last time you saw a policeman in your street/area ?

Get the army out if you intend to take this crisis seriously.

It's credit to Dominic Cummings who is behind this.

But yes, credit to all the leaders.

Why would you think that? The Tory media were saying just hours ago that it was the devolved Govts and ministers who were making Boris take greater action.  The leaks to the Sunday Times yesterday (refuted by Downing St peculiarly since they don't usually get upset about reporters  other than to have favourable ones close) Cummings was all for letting everyone catch the virus...

You can do that still.

I wish my block had a garden. Got 40 space car park instead... I despise it.

Brilliant, cheers.

I'll have to order everything online as we've not much. This garden will be minted by time I'm finished.

Might start a thread for the inevitable 100 questions..

5% of global confirmed cases are in new york.

That is a horrific stat. I was there last June. I noticed that most transactions there were still conducted in olde fashioned cash. Surely handling cash is a huge red flag risk for this?

What are the driving restrictions, excluding to and from work, just for clarity? Can you drive to a location to exercise?

Under 60, no underlying health issues. Both fit and well at the moment.

Seemed fine a few hours ago but obviously rules have changed.

Decided to follow the rules and spent something like 7 hours in garden. Back and knees sore but got through power of weeding and scraping stuff from between paving stones. Next weekend, and perhaps after 5ish will be cutting back plants, bushes and a tree before edging and then cleaning and oiling decking. Usually do this in May when wife nags me to get my backside in gear, so I expect award winning garden this year.

Only caveat is it needs to warm up cause gardening in the cold sucks.

It is all very vague.

But it doesn’t matter.

It can’t possibly be enforced.

Taxis should be supporting the supermarkets with deliveries right now. Would be win win.

My friends in Italy are on lockdown.  You can still buy beer in the supermarkets over there.
