Given we have cover in Edwards and Bozanic and even Lee until he goes I'm OK if we don't sign Mulumbu assuming Haring isn't out long term. The man, aged in his 30s, was with a second person in a wooded area close to the Almond Aquaduct near to Cliftonhall Road in Newbridge on Saturday, July 6 when the incident happened. The two men were seen in the area at around 2pm. They stated to a member of the public that there was a nearby nest that contained five Sparrowhawk chicks. The suspects then intimated that they planned to take the chicks with a view to sell on and had attempted to remove a number of the chicks from the nest. The incident was reported to police and officers attended the scene who in turn contacted the Scottish SPCA to assist with conducting inquiries into the matter. The men are both described as white and with local accents. The first man was aged in his fifties, around 5ft 6ins to 5ft 9ins tall and was wearing a black baseball cap, black down jacket, black jeans and black shoes. The second man was younger, aged in his thirties, of slim build and slightly taller at 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall. He was wearing an Aberdeen FC shirt, Aberdeen FC shorts, and white trainers. Inquiries are currently ongoing and anyone who may have any information is asked to come forward. Wildlife Crime Officer said: “We are working with our partners to fully investigate this report and would remind the public that the taking, or harming, of these raptors is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. “I’d appeal to any dog walkers or member of the public who may have been near the Union Canal on Saturday afternoon, and who saw these two men, to get in touch with officers should they have information to assist our inquiries.” Scottish SPCA special investigations unit undercover inspector said: “We are pleased the attempt to steal the sparrowhawk chicks was halted by the vigilant members of the public. “We want to make it clear to the public that all birds, including birds of prey, are protected by law and it is a criminal offence to remove eggs, chicks or birds from the wild. Thank Christ nobody at United tried to push the envelope and tell him to ‘bulk up’. That side of things will come, and it’s the easier part of being a professional athlete. You have a point, Ronaldo went from skinny to slightly heavy and is now probably as fit as footballer can be. He obviously did fill out or bulk up in time. It’s something the youngsters should aspire too I feel. Harry has been targeted in the first team and the reserves and has suffered injuries, he will need to keep building his strength as he grows. It’s the main reason he’s not been involved as much. I maybe didn’t explain myself well, I think Andy needs to get stuck in a bit more, he seems just a tad hesitant to stick a leg in from I’ve seen but hopefully that will come as he gets older and even stronger. The strength and size of a Lewis Ferguson for example, probably over physical to be honest, at the same sort of age. There is a balance to be had, I would say Uche does too much in the Gym to the detriment of his actual football skills, that need more work. Olly Lee is possibly too muscular as well, I hadn’t noticed until Celtic Park how ripped he was. I think a little bit of extra energy 😜 can help in the latter part of games, Lee and Uche are usually blowing out their backsides.
