Ralph Callachan, O'Connor, Busby, George Stewart. Could be MacNamara heading away

Could be Tony Higgins instead of Callachan looking at it again

Where have you been, MS?

I’ve asked after you a couple of times on the Edinburgh history thread.

Everything ok?

Craig Paterson on the right.

I think Jackie MacNamara is heading clear from Chris Robertson (could be Bobby Robinson)

Struggling to put a name to the Hearts player in the distance to the right of Willie Gibson

Looks like Ralph Callaghan

Surely that’s Ralph Callachan?

Higgins was ugly, Ralphie wasn’t! 😀

What year is that MS? I wonder if it is the 1 - 1 game when George Stewart tried to put Willie Gibson off when taking a penalty at the Dunbar end.

If it is I would have been in the no-mans land area, in the background of the photo, with my Grandad and as it’s the late 70’s I would have been about 7 or 8 and he didn’t want us getting caught up in the renowned Gorgie Aggro😜

I've a feeling it's November 1978  Hearts won 2-1 if it was

Think Ralph had left Hearts by that match. Can't remember him wearing the Umbro kit with the diamonds down the sleeves

Robbo’s older brother Chris, no.10? Possibly Stuart Gauld in front of the shed?

Yeah I was thinking of Gauld as well but don't really remember him playing on the right - mind you McQuade didn't either !

I think he's more Gauld than McQuade - hair is not right for it to be McQuade

Could also be Frank Liddell the furthest away

I remember Gauld as a RB at Salvie and thought he may have played there in his few 1st team appearances.

Is Frank Liddell no. 10? Suspect it is as I don’t think Chris could jump that high..his wee brother could though😜

My first thought was maybe Cammy Fraser but the more I look at it I dont think it is. Might be a bit wide of the mark date wise too.

Chris Robertson is a good bet - he seems to have a bit of a physique.  McQuade was quite gangly wasn't he ?

Actually struggling to know when this match was played. I've checked London Hearts to try and work it out but I'm still stumped. The match I thought it was has Busby as 10 and obviously it's not him

The hair, and the height, make me pretty sure it’s not Cammy.

The hair colour looks too light for Liddell.

Haven't, for the life of me though, got the slightest who it is.

If it wasn’t for the year, I’d have had a wee stab at Harry Kinnear in the number 10.

But, I know it isn’t.  🤷🏿‍♂️

Using Wiki...

Willie Gibson played at Hearts until 81. Craig Paterson at Hibs 79-82. So it has to be 79-81.

According to historical kits Hibs played in that strip 1980-81. Games obviously Tynecastle...

This is the match. It was an EoS game

That is Stuart Gauld and the 10 is ..... Jim Campbell !

Was going to say, it couldn’t be a league match with Gary Mackay there.  Different strips come our return to the Premier in 83-84 and we never played them in any of the cups from 78 until 94.👍🏻

I found the match on London Hearts

Jim Campbell is the 10 and sent me down a few rabbit holes as for the life of me I have never ever heard of him !

Poor Jim, lived it for 90 mins though. Wonder what became of him.

Not quite 90 mins - he was subbed by Jim Docherty in the 2nd half !

Didn't we have a player called Smith playing up front for a short spell. Iain, maybe. He could be 10 if it's not Robertson..I always remember a News headline of Humdrum at Tynecastle with the action photo showing Smith.

I've been on the ‘hallowed’ for about 10 minutes once, my wee pal was a ‘mascot’ and led out the team, about 100 years ago.

Well thats some consolation that he was taken off for Jim 'I had to look him up too' Docherty.

Now, you’re really testing me, Riccarton.

Don't recall that name at all.

Googled the bugger. Played 7 games in 1977.  Scored 2. Prolific compared to current crop. 6 foot 2 so looked like size. But, arm, Campbell it is.

👍I thought the same - hair too light to be Liddell.

I hear Jim Campbell is being cast in next year’s “I’m a Celeb, get me out of here”😜

One of the founders of FoH on the left ...... and venture a guess at Harry Hood as the Sellick man ?   No idea the 2 hidden Hearts men though.
