I travelled on (not this particular one but) many 41's to school. Blackhall used to be serviced by the 18, 20(part route not Sundays), 24, 29 and the 41. Was it The Tip it was known as? It is officially called Orchard Park. We played football there every Sunday from circa 1970 for years. Met all my life long mates during those games, all Jambos to a man. We were all SCAB men as well. I just cannot remember us calling it The Tip, thought that was further along the road to be honest. Mind you age plays a lot of tricks with the memory😃

Guess it must have been The Tip where we played then. You will know that two of the main characters are no longer with us. I am meeting one of the other players before the County game. Sharpie
1 hour ago, Boston Jambo said: Was there fan segregation back then? No, I left 1n 1966 and was not aware of segregation then. Rangers and Celtic fans always had their songs, I honestly don't remember other than little smatterings of noise Hearts or Hibs fans being big into singing. Half times could be interesting as the fans changed ends to get behind their teams goal. Fights weren't unusual but it was often so packed it stayed in a small area, and usuallly just a couple of guys getting at it. I certainly do not remember Hearts ever having a singing section or even in any strength singing religious songs. Most of the adult support in my days had fought in a war, WW1, WW2, Korea, so fighting was all used up. When Celtic and Rangers were visiting we were either according to them rotten papes, or f...... orange *******s. Line ups like the two there could be seen at both grounds when tickets for all ticket games went on sale, stood in a few of them, then one of the benefits of being in the police was the benefit of getting a couple of tickets from the clubs..
