Thanks for trying - here a bit from 1838 showing an earlier name for the Oxford Bar

This I think narrows it down to between 1903 and 1920

In this later photo, coming down from Wester Hailes, the wooden houses, which look strangely light, are by the telegraph pole and you can just see the prefabs on the left either side of the stonework of the canal bridge.

There are similar wooden houses at West Pilton - this photo is of W Pilton Place - they were always known as the Swedish houses when I was wee many moons ago!

The Swedish houses were post war prefabs too, obviously posher ones. There's more in Viewbank Drive, Bonnyrigg.

Queensferry Road at the "tip" at Craigleith. I travelled on (not this particular one but) many 41's to school. Blackhall used to be serviced by the 18, 20(part route not Sundays), 24, 29 and the 41.

What the heck is going on with the wee lad to the right below Bobby, looks like he’s in a coffin.

In those days I was lucky my Dads old ARP buddy had season tickets for a number of centre stand seats at Easter Road and Tynecastle so we watched in luxury and no queues.

My dad took me to me to the north and south stands at Tynie, early 80s. Had season tickets there, I think because being American, he wasn't used to standing at NFL/baseball.

My Grandfathers regular in the late 60's/1970.

Hogmanay 1970 whilst walking up Candlemaker Row on his way to get his New Year bottle from the pub, he had a heart attack, collapsed and died right there in the street, he was quite far up the street I believe, so he could have died a matter of yards from where this photo ends.

Looks like market Street at the fruit market. Was a policeman Willie Davidson stationed there on permanent day shift to handle the traffic especially early morning when all the activity was taking place. Worked it a couple of times, never been addresseed so obscenely and my intelligence insulted so often by truck drivers who knew what they were doing and I was trying to get them to do something different.
