i think this is where a school is now. Can't remember the name of it. Those houses on the left seem more Granton type.

You're not far off.  It's the site of Royston Primary with Royston Mains Street along the left.

It’s Slateford Road alright.

 Allan Park is the general term used for that area.

Yeah , my parents lived in Allan park in their later years , my dad hated the hill up to his house .

I grew up in Hutchison , the only ice cream van allowed in there was Tony’s  ( and I’m sure they were all called that)  😃

It must have been taken from Broomview House; the block of flats at the top of Broomhouse Road. 

 

The building with the skylights at the bottom is Calder Road fire station.

Went to Welch's at Newhaven for some fish and chips today and popped over to Newhaven Main Street. Totally changed from this phot.
