Think that's how it's going to be all night, and different areas one or the other is going to get the UKIP vote Going to Conservatives in Leave areas and Labour in Remain areas (Newcastle was Remain, Sunderland Leave). At an earlier stage in the election campaign, a YouGov series of regional opinion polls showed the Conservatives as gaining more in the North-East than in any other part of England. On the eight results so far the gap between the parties has closed by 1.8 percentage points. If that carried through across the country the Conservative would lead by 4.6%. That would be in the kind of territory that YouGov's opion polls were predicting, and would also be enough to see the Conservatives drop to between 315 and 320 seats.
