Must be said, the idea of an independence referendum any time soon looks pretty inconceivable now.

Despite the view from Tory HQ that they won't do better than the exit poll, BBC are saying that the Conservatives will win 322 seats, Labour 261.  That's a revision slightly in favour of the Conservatives.

Enough to govern with DUP support.

Unbelievable 14% swing to Labour in Midlothian! 100% the biggest mistake Nippy has made is calling Indy2!?!

It fast appears Scotland may save May.

If only Kezia could have convinced voters of her unionist credentials like Ruth.

Sturgeon's blitz on Indy ref 2 has been a massive mistake.

Although for what it's worth, May will suffer just as much for calling her bluff

If anything Labour are winning from Corbyn's surge not Dugdale's anti-indy stuff

Disagree. She's gone. I'm listening to the Radio 5 coverage and all their pundits say she's toast.

A fragile coalition between the Tories and the DUP seems likely. Goodness only knows who'll lead it.

:spoton:

Could also be argued by doing so its allowed the Tories in the backdoor because unionist parties votes are split. Had the election be a straight forward election without Indy being involved I think many of the votes for the Tories would have gone to Labour giving them more seats

Can't see Tories getting 322 seats

Bear in mind that in 2015 the exit poll predicted 316 seats for the Conservatives.  After a couple of hours the BBC revised the Tory number upwards to about 322-324.  By 5 am the Tories were headed for 330.

They are but there are a large number of people voting on the constitution who are opting for the conservatives who may have otherwise went for Labour.

The ironic thing is that the SNP's indyref chat and Labour's lack of strength on the union has potentially helped the Tories stay in power by the skin of their teeth.

It's horrific to see so much Tory support in Scotland. It's. ever been like that in my lifetime as a voter since the early eighties.

Scottish people expressing their opinion in a fair election. What's not to like? Democracy in action.

SNP position in any coalition discussions will be interesting. Perhaps they will offer to get into bed with whoever commits to not holding indyref2

What's the deal with the SDLP, are they nationalists? Do they take their Westminster seats?

SDLP have always taken their seats though pro-United Ireland.

Sinn Fein don't take their seats.
