SDLP have always taken their seats though pro-United Ireland.

Sinn Fein don't take their seats.

So Sinn Fein gains from the SDLP helps the conservatives then.

What's the deal with the SDLP, are they nationalists? Do they take their Westminster seats?

Nationalists who take their seats, and who have links with the Irish and British Labour parties.

Another loss for the SNP.

Sturgeon will have to resign

Hopefully, I can't fecking stand her. We need someone with charisma and a likeable personality. Someone that will reach out to young voters

Anti SNP vote from the Unionists.

Nothing more to it.

What do you mean by that?

Con gain Walsall from  Labour

Walsall North was one of those constituencies where the UKIP vote was expected to unseat Labour.

Labour have gained Ipswich from the Conservatives - on the back of a collapse in UKIP's vote.

Communist League in Islington (Jeremy Corbin's seat) gets 7 (seven) votes. I can't remember a lower vote.

Perverse as it seems, yes you're correct. Sinn Fein have always refused to take up their seats.

Mental night btw on so many levels. I always end up staying up all night for Elections. So compelling.

When it all shakes out, there's going to be some tough old negotiations in the next few days. I'm expecting a clumsy Tory-UUP Coalition.

They're high maintenance and demanding and will chew the Tories' ears off.

Corbyn's done well but he's nearly 70 so he must be thinking about giving someone else a go.

There are so many complexities and nuances that go on in these votes!

I love election night, I always stay up for it.

Yep.

Is Sinn Fein abstentionism negotiable if they could prevent a Conservative government? Or would it lead to the formation of Continuity/Real/New Sinn Fein?

Pete Wishart hold Perth North by 21 (twenty one) votes

Labour GAIN Kirkcaldy. David Coburn - the UKIP MEP got a derisory 540 votes.

They won't take the oath. There's no chance.

Everything she says suggested no resignation.

Who knows what happens in 6 or so hours time.

No "strong and stable" yet!

Lots of use of 'Stability'. 'Strong' has mysteriously disappeared ;)

But HM Queen visited Ireland and watched Irish dancing and wore green! Why not?

And BTW, fair play to the machine learning model of YouGov. They called it.

Because they have always refused to and always will. Britain is a foreign island to them.

I never got that impression.

It was the phrase "period of time" I was focusing on.

Either way, I can't see Tory high brass allowing it.

Nope, nor me. She's a goner. I shudder to imagine who's next. Please not Boris!

She'll fall on her sword this week, whether it is self-inflicted or in the back will be interesting.
