FFS can we please just delete this thread? Everytime I see someone has posted I click on it only to be disappointed. Can we just have one if and when he signs please?

This. Also, would this delay have been as long if he was signing for Chelsea or Man Utd?

Perhaps the most positive part for me bar him essentially having signed..

?John Hill, our sports scientist, sent him some fitness stuff to go and do on his own. Hopefully, he?s in decent condition. I don?t expect him to take too long to get up to speed but, obviously, he?s going to be a wee bit behind everyone else when he gets here.?

Just shows how well prepared we are nowadays. And should also help with concerns re him being behind.

From Robbie;

It can take anything between three and fifteen days. We?re now ten days in so we?re expecting him to get it pretty soon, to be honest. Hopefully there won?t be any hitches

So, today is the day then? :)

Should be, he has his work permit and expects to get his visa today and then sign immediately.

I just wonder if he will be much better than Eckersley ? He won't be as good as Takis though

There's no shame in that IMHO. There aren't many who are.

Whaaaaaaaaaat?

I'm gutted for you if you're too young to have seen Takis. I suppose it was 7 years ago now.

He was... awesome.

I didn't read it that way but I see what you mean now that I read it again.

its not about being better than Takis,.. considering he was possibly our best ever LB. Its about being better than McHattie...

No.  I asked who is or was better than Takis Fyssas.  I'm old enough to remember Malcom Murray mate.

I would imagine a guy who played every game in the world cup for nigeria is better than eckersley. Don't get me wrong, I really liked eckersley, but I think this is a big step up.
