You should get or be in the process of getting your wish.

Rain in Minceville turned to snow which is now lying a little.

I can confirm it is snowing in gorebridge quite heavily

Indeed it is - big flakes too at the moment, to add to the several inches blanketing my garden already!

jambos are go!

Great that a whole bunch of kids can experience the joys of a winter wonderland at Christmas with clumsy enthusiastic parents and the like.

Seems to be a bit of a thaw on at the moment, judging by the way it's dripping off my roof - but it's bloody cold too!

Quite a noticeable thaw in Gorgie, suppose the danger is it is all thawing now and turning back to water, and they are forecasting that tonight will be exceptionally cold, which could mean the roads will be rather icy come tomorrow morning.

Still no more snow in Fife and the blob that fell from the sky last week has had a major shift too, almost back to normal here now.

I thought you lived in Rosyth, that is as near to normal as The Royal Edinburgh Hospital.

Anti-mental illness/Rosyth post, IMO.

That's a bit harsh on The Royal Edinburgh Hospital !!

John, that makes us worse, it means we're here by choice :smiliz23:

Where's yer sense of civic pride, Malky? When did you move to R'syth btw?

I remember yourself and yer bro from when I was very young (you must be three or four years older than myself) living in Forker Avenue. You guys stayed at the bottom of the "ziggies" iirc?

My dad, born and raised in Edinburgh, says he would never move back. Rosyth has its problems, but I've never had anyone approach me in the pub offering to sell me bacon, for example. The overriding benefit of the Dunfermline area over Edinburgh is the fact that smack hasn't taken hold of our communities just yet, hence the area in general is a better place for kids to grow up. In general, it is more child friendly here (more friendly generally my wife, born and raised in Edinburgh, reckons).

When in my teenage years, I yearned to live in Edinburgh as it seems so big and magical when you only pop over to visit family and go to the football. Having lived there and having come to realise that it's neither very big nor very magical, I'm kind of glad I don't any more.

Anyway... It's freezing here in Torry Bay and the snow shows no sign of proper meltage yet, sadly.

I think you will find that honour belongs to Penicuik where another inch of snow has just fallen on the foot of snow already lying in the back garden. :santa1:

If I were at work and lived in the counties, go home now.

You usually find that Penicuik and Gorebridge get tons of snow, while in between, there can often be very little. Most times I can leave home and by the time you get to Nitten, you'd hardly know it had been snowing.

Yeah, I once arrived at work in Dalkeith and was parking the car, which had several inches of snow on it, only to be asked if I'd come from the Arctic, because there was hardly any snow in Dalkeith.
