Yes, and keep Vargas benched to be brought on for the last 30 minutes. Unless of course we are 3 up by then!

strangely enough I had a dream we won 0-3. Shankland on 14 mins, Varga on 47 and Oda off the bench on 84. Probably means nothing!

3-0 Rangers

The main concern for us should be not getting a needless Red Card that would jeopardise the team for Wednesday.

There is no way the SFA will allow us to derail Rangers title push.

The main concern for us is competing well and winning football matches. With the squad we have we can absorb any red card bar Shankland really. Not your best post Rods.

I'll be keeping away from all coverage, I can't stand all the OF centric coverage and fawning. I'm off to my garden shed until 5pm (worked for the Parkhead game so hopeful today)

Shape is what I expected - thought he might’ve gone for Forrest/Fraser instead

of Vargas/Grant

Lets do this Hearts :flagwave:

That'll do.

Forrest an excellent option from the bench in the second half. He'll run them ragged.

Our job first half will be to keep it tight and not let rangers get ahead. Grabbing one ourselves if we can but I think the second half is where we will start to have a proper go.

I like 3-5-2. Perfect for away games, especially against the OF

Vargas starting is positive. Look out for him nicking a goal on the break in the first half, to be replaced by Forrest when they start to tire!

Thanks, was just about to ask. Hopefully won't be out for too long!

Think that was a bit over a week before the Motherwell game.

Don't be scared, have a go, not a cavalry charge but don't give them any unwarranted respect.

Sadly we have been here before. The status qou will be maintained.

My post is not anything against the team. I think we are building in the right direction.

Things are just to close that the GFA will let Rangers drop points now.

Apologies chaps. Was told Tait was starting but he’s not 100% so Beni keeps his place

Good to see Atkinson back in the starting line up.

Also trying not to get overrun in midfield looks good. Grant is clearly firmly in Naismith's good books these days. Option for Cochrane to slide into midfield if Naismith wants to go 4 at the back at times. At the coaches night he talked about the previous game at Ibrox being cat and mouse with each team changing formation back and forward repeatedly.

Playing Vargas over Forrest gives more pace for an out ball, versus Forrest being able to carry the ball up field well. Arguably Vargas pace more likely to lead to a goal where relieving pressure more likely to prevent us losing a goal, so positive attacking intent. Vargas has also been scoring of course.

We started 3-5-2 against Well with Forrest operating centrally and he was pretty lost 1st half. Moved wide 2nd half and was brilliant. Think Vargas is more suited in that role initially.

Fraser struggled to get in to the game last week, so maybe Grant offers a bit more? Its a coin toss really

There isn’t any point in you being here or indeed following a fixed game if you really believe that shite

Very relaxed about today. We’ve been on an excellent run, the team will go into this with good confidence and I know the manager will have a sensible game plan and not just see it as a free hit.

Always wary with Ibrox that you could play the game of your life and come away with nothing due to referees/VAR etc. Important if so that we pick ourselves up and batter Hibs and Celtic at home.

Happy with that team and formation. Very tough on Forrest but I'm sure him and Tait will play their part later. Feeling hopeful!

Grant?
forrest for me has been our best player outwith shankland lately.

seems strange to have him on the bench but I have to trust Naismith.

I assume you have completely forgotten the game earlier in the season?

I assume you don’t remember the Takis Fyssas incident?

We are doing well ie a potential danger to the status qou and we will get put back in our place soon enough.

The league is weighted I have accepted that and the sooner you do the better it will be for you.

I can't remember when Forrest didn't start in the last few weeks so maybe he's being given a bit of a rest from that responsibility. This will be an intense game with lots of second-half subs so to have Forrest and Fraser on the bench for when Vargas and Grant tire looks like good game planning.

With that shitebag of a ref today

expect at least 2 rangers penalty’s and a red card for us

Yup scoring too early could really hamper us....we just need to hang on and steal a late winner, not allowing time for the ref to give them a leg up. Having said that from 6o mins on if they havent scored we're into penalty rangers time!!! Corruption so obvious yet some deny it.

Several early yellows for defenders and nieuwenhof beni etc. That way the ref sets himself up nicely for any random tackle later on likely being a 2nd yellow.

Be pleasantly surprised if no red. Its the early yellows to gift them the battles that do the damage tho.

I'd have preferred Vargas off the bench. Really believe he'd have the quality to hurt a tired Rangers.

But in Naismith I trust.

Naismith is speaking well.

Talking about the team as a squad.

Addressing our weaknesses.

I'm becoming one of those fanboy types

I'm fine with us scoring an early goal but anyone thinking 1 will do is kidding themselves. We will need to score 2 goals at least and they'll need to be the cleanest indisputable goals ever scored.
