Wouldn't surprise me. I'm a very boring bar steward. Maybe I could have worn more flamboyant shirts or something.

Ah, so it appears that the "drones" are actually ballistic missiles according to one source. However these shouldn't take hours to reach their targets so something doesn't add up with that report..

It was the Iranians who said they had launched ‘dozens of drones and missiles’.

Just reported on Sky news that some the drones fly st approximately 150mph, so will take a while to get there and should be relatively easy to take out.

The drones are to wear down the iron dome are they not? To make way for missiles if they are coming.

2 different sides of bunches of lunatics who think that their particular book of fairy stories gives them a devine right to destroy or subjugate the other lunatics.

We would be well advised to keep well clear of both of them, but our history in creating this mess obligates us to take sides.

In my opinion, there are no good guys here. Only war mongers who care little about innocent casualties.

Religion, a source of comfort for many, is also the source of suffering for many more.

Fired 300+ Missiles and Drones only 3 got thru.. That is really embarrassing for Iran, they just showed how bad thier weapons are. Even during the Iran/Iraq war they couldn't get many missiles to hit beyond Basra region as they were taken out.

The iron dome is some piece of kit.

300 missiles sounds a lot.

For perspective Hezbollah just across its border has 130,000 missiles.

The Iranian response was a face saving measure which Israel will have probably known about.

Neither side could cope with escalation.

40  plus years both alliances have  caused misery with proxy wars which usually include war criminality.

They've managed the perpetual war pretty well truth be told.

Spot on.
The attack was well predicted, and carried out knowing it wouldn’t do any damage. It was a signal to their own people as well as everyone else, that they have acted after the deaths of their commanders.
Israel could make great strides in international opinion by NOT retaliating directly.
Interesting the media this morning though. Much made of this being the first direct attack on Israel from Iranian soil. Not so much on the numerous attacks over the years by Israel on Iran, killing many high profile scientists etc.

I'm bias towards Israel.

As you know.

The news coverage is fairly skewed in their favour as you note.

I'd agree.

As an aside Iran hit Israel by proxy daily.

Albeit some would say some of these missiles were in response.

People against the Oppression of Palestine who I respect:

Owen Jones

Norman Finkelstein (Jewish)

Bassem Youssef (Semite)

Novara media

Breaking points

Rising the Hill (Brianha, Robbie not so much)

The Grayzone (Jewish)

The Young Turks

Kernow rants

Pastor Munther

Lee Camp (Jewish)

I heard a statistic that a third of those arrested in Germany for protesting the Genocide were Jewish.

I and many Jewish people am against the Genocide being committed against Palestinians who are the most oppressed people on the planet.

This oppression has been carried out by Israel and is supported by their allies including the UK who claim their values are freedom and equality but for some reason this doesn’t apply to Palestinians.

Israel is a racist, fascist, apartheid state. Could you imagine if Palestinians decided how much food Israeli were allowed to eat and what kind of food was acceptable (chocolate is not allowed into Gaza). People would correctly say this is unacceptable but they are completely comfortable with Israel deciding how much food and what type of food Palestinians are allowed to eat.

You can be sure the next attack is coming from Hezbollah.
That will feed into Israel’s plea that they are under constant attack. Probably quite accurate as well.

Can’t change the fact that they ****ed up badly the response to the Oct attack. It will take decades to sort this latest outbreak. It will also please the hawks, who will demand increases in defence spending. Already happening of course.

That defence system has come a long way from the early days of testing Patriot missiles in the Gulf. The drones were also taken down by US & UK fighter jets, tbf.

Iran's defences will be a lot more porous, assuming Israel retaliates.
