It has to happen. Give Stevie a go and if it doesn't work out then we bring someone in. At least it gives us time to look for a replacement.

Someone who could hopefully command respect. Doesn’t have to be a tactical genius, just needs to get these players motivated to play for him.

To the end of the season, I don’t even see it as a risk, because in my mind we’ve already lost third with Robbie

Folk have lost it suggesting Niasmith. Total imposter and would be yet another jobs for the boys appointment, why not get Berra and Snodgrass to help him out while we are at it.

Doesn't deserve the respect he gets on here and the squad certainly wouldn't respect him.

He's never picked Kio for starters.

The Hogfather

If we’re appointing managers from the Lowland League, why not the manager whose team is top, rather than 12th?

Played at the highest level, a winner, a fighter, takes no shit, a motivator.

One thing he would do is make the team play with a bit more desire …not saying he is the answer, but he wouldnt put up with players not giving their all

Few years as Scotland coach in a squad that has done very well.

Youth coach here.

Knows the club well.

A wealth of footballing experience.

A very determined guy.

Couldnt do any worse, imo.

many people say "what has he done"  when his name is mentioned   What was Neilson doing when he first got the gig?

His trophy cabinet would suggest otherwise, he's also part of a well drilled Scottish setup - everything we need right now.

I'd take a traffic cone

No going back I want him gone for good

Off the field we are in such a good place on the field we are a shambles

Just putting it out there…

Said this a few weeks ago. Some will question it, but some are frightened of their own shadow. We've had 2 weeks since the Aberdeen game, talks between players and coaches to sort things out. What happens, the exact same type of performance. If the players played for Naismith, that in itself would be a massive step forward.

All a complete myth. Captain of the team who were bottom of the league, as slow as Snodgrass for two seasons and only in the job now because it was in his stupidly long contract.

Couldn't motivate a fart

You mean like he didn't when he was club captain?

Motherwell and Aberdeen have shown it can work, in the short term anyway.

Problem with keeping RN is I dont think we will progress.

Probably more than Barry Robson before he got the Aberdeen interim job.

The players were on holiday after the Aberdeen game… shankland was in Spain and halliday in Dubai.  I’m not sure any talks actually took place.  We’re soft on and off the pitch by the sounds of it

It could work but it’s also a gamble.  Not against Naismith coming in btw

Rubbish.  If they don’t respect him they should because only Snodgrass has come near his level in the game.

Barry Robson was a coach in the first team, not farmed out to the youths because we were contracted to give him a job.

They didn't respect him when he was club captain. Being a moaning faced dick whilst playing like Snodgrass doesn't motivate anyone.

Naismith was sidelined into that job from the first team back up team because he let his voice be heard and Neilson and Jig didn’t like what they were hearing. Simple as that.

Of course it’s a gamble.  So is keeping Neilson.  A huge one.

Sorry, just remember him putting in the exact same performances as Snodgrass is now, whilst being told he is a great motivator and leader and great to have in the dressing room. Only the opposite applied whilst captain of an unmotivated team who couldnt buy a win.

Played as much a part in our downfall that season as anyone.

Born winner ? Not on any evidence whilst he was at hearts.

Hard to be a winner in that Hearts team under that Manager!
