lol, knew that would come back to bite

I meant in terms of not looking like a superstar team (as of old) but actually are a team with real drive and have achieved when you’d think they were down.

Much better team performance than we've seen from Real in the past (on occasion, at any rate).

Courtios is almost as good as Craig Gordon. Some shift.

Yeah I agree. Not quite as good as our CG, but still good 😁

This reminds me of the Liverpool fan group spokesman on the radio a couple of weeks ago when asked about the quadruple said “I’m confident about the cups, the league is a bit touch and go, but the champions league is in he bag already, no worries about that”

If Madrid had Joel Pereira in goals, it would be about 25-1 to Liverpool.

They’d sub him at half time though.

Doing what they gotta do.  Great performance by Courtois.

That's what I'm seeing too. If the Liverpool front line was so good as the hype they would have been home and hosed

Madrid could/should have had a couple more as well but for poor final decisions/passes

Could be 3-0.

as @Thomaso has been at pains to point out - it’s not the Harlem globetrotters we’ve been used to over the last few decades, but they’ve certainly got something*

*millions and millions and millions of pounds 😉

Masterclass on defending and counter attacking football by Madrid here.

Ronaldo has enjoyed lockdown

He's enjoyed the last 15 years.

There's a good reason why he's called fat Ronaldo.

Oh ffs nothing wrong with their front line - they have been up against an inspired keeper!

He made more saves in the first 10 minutes than Pereira made in his  career anyway.

Three goals in the last three Champions League finals.

The competition always seem to peak in the semi-final stages.

yup, it’s not exactly swashbuckling galacticos.

even if Liverpool score, which they might, this Real team have done amazingly to achieve what they have.

5 minutes under real pressure but controlled it tonight.

You have to say they deserved it, the road Madrid had to the final couldn't have been more difficult.

They do what you need to do in a final, find a way to win.

Well done Carlo.

That’s this liverpool “era” over - Salah and Mane both to leave. Firming is finished. Leaving them with Jordan Henderson and a Dundee United left back. And a bellend RB who gets caught napping defensively. And a Wolves striker. Mid table next season

Fair play to commentators at end giving Madrid credit.

Didn't listen until near end.

I enjoy watching Liverpool lose.

Also, I felt a bit let down by the Europa, hopefully they'll let the dugs loose on the scousers. I hear Wiggum's been starving them, singing off key at them.

First half was pretty pish, second half was decent I thought.  Natural order restored with La Liga coming out on top in the CL.

He’s a fantastic footballer but a really shite defender.  Southgate sees this but Klopp doesn’t.

Great performance by Madrid, soaked up the pressure and still created 3 or 4 good chances. Liverpool got schooled there on how to win in Europe when it matters.
