I get what you're saying but there's plenty of colourful and different teams to choose if that's what is important to someone.

When I was a kid, I wanted a maroon or a white Hearts top, as that's what the team I supported played in. I'd go as far to say that I'd have been disappointed if I'd got one that wasn't in those colours.

3rd kit by all means, do whatever you like with it. All for those being jazzy and bright. Just keep the home and away classic.

Edit: I make an exception for the yellow kit, I liked that as a kid...though I probably thought it was keeper top 😂

Nah.

Be a terrible decision to just stick to tradition colours.

Marketing powers dictate we have to have  tops that vary quite a bit.

When yu were a kid, or when some of the older fok on here were  kids in the 60's, 70's 80's even 90's there were few females at the game and less families.

The make up of the support has changed.

Not may woman or girls wore football tops.

Times have changed.

The home one is generally the traditional colour one.

I'm not a fan of colourful strips but I understand 100 % why it's a thing and I'm at peace with it.

Don;t think Taffin is saying much different tbh

Plus it's a teeny bit patronising to suggest females want to dress like My Little Pony characters. Can we have a green camouflage stye kit for the young boys?

I'm cool with the away top being a bit out there, not opposed to a pink kit (if that's actually true) at all but my concern would be it'll be a bit too similar to maroon... Still I guess that would mean the beautiful 3rd kit gets an outing whenever we play teams in red!

Thing is alot of younger Girls (and guys) do wear lots of bright, colourful clothing especially around Summertime when the kits get released. Nothing to suggest EVERYONE in that demographic would but then there's the more traditional options available, I know my Girlfriend for instance probably wouldn't wear the home top through choice & doesn't really like the Inter style one, but does like coming to some home games even though she's not a die hard fan. If we brought out a full on outrageous top like say, this old Scotland top she'd maybe be more inclined to get one.

In which case i stand corrected 🤷‍♂️

No reason why the ladies team can't play around with their kits, home/away or third?

The obvious joke is that someobody stole the pegs and left the top.

It's strangely appealing - a real 90s rave feel about it.

A bloke in front of us at the Cup Final was wearing a yellow "players" jersey.

I can't remember us wearing it much. Possibly only away at Dundee?

But it would make a good all yellow 3rd strip in the future.

It begs the question, what player was a sub wearing number 15?

With a gut like that, I doubt very much it was a player's shirt !

Jimmy Bone, perhaps !

We had Asics strips 1993-95.

So that rules out Jimmy Bone by around 10 years.

IIRC the yellow strip wasn't made available for the fans to buy.

Also that number 15 was a stitched on fabric number.

It is a players shirt. The story is in the book 51 shirts currently being sold in the club shop. It was worn just twice against Dundee and Falkirk. The strips were given to a Sunday pub team and have just re-emerged this year after Hearts shirt collectors tracked them down.

Thanks for the update DVB.

It's amazing that these Yellow tops have surfaced after all these years.

If the away kit is a bit whack we could do worse than an all white 3rd strip with trim/sponsor in maroon. Would be pretty cool.

I've seen the leaked kit as well, what amazed me on the green and white away kit is the 'better together' logos on the sleeves, I guess to balance it with the home kit and hit both markets?

I liked the nice touch of the BT fans wearing green and white stripes. :jj:

Those shirts were only worn in 2 games. In the first game at Dens the subs were Ian Ferguson and Allan Johnston wearing 12 and 14.

In the second game at Dens the one substitute used was Scott Leitch and unfortunately I don't have any video of the game or photos or documentation to say what number he wore.

Those yellow Asics shirts are probably the rarest modern day shirts going, never on sale to the public and full player spec. IMO beautiful kits, other Hearts fans hate them :)

I know the guy wearing the number 15 shirt, he is an absolutely great guy and proper Hearts man by the way. In fact it was me who traded the yellow shirt to him for another Hearts shirt. I couldn't be happier when I traded it as it couldn't have went to a better home.

For a better look at this rare kit see John Robertson's kit below -

I've always thought people were talking about the yellow Pony number, I didn't realise we'd had two yellow change kits.

I totally remember the player picture in the middle of a program was Paul Ritchie wearing that one.

I suppose the away would have been the inter one about that time and it was deemed too close to Falkirk and Dundee blue?

Yes it was, but only ever worn away twice at Dundee.

Falkirk weren't in the top flight that season. We did play them but only at home in the league cup.

Oddly we just wore maroon against Raith that season,  but their kit did have a lot of white on it.

Can't stand the all maroon. Reminds me of Jamie Hamill.

Reckon the all maroon is a cup game superstition for Robbie Neilson stemming from 2006.

Quite frankly, that strip is absolute Hearts porn 😍 🤩😍🥰🤩😍🥰

Maybe cause I was a bairn when it was used, nostalgia, maybe because you can't really get hands on it under normal circumstances, or maybe the maroon and yellow just makes it devine....

Stunning, in a word 😍

Still seems too early, we always seem to do it at the end of June/July.

I imagine they will do the usual, post a teaser image of the underside of the sleeve and sponsor, and then wait until after the weekend.

I hope so, hopefully unveiling Ronan in the new kit.

Traditionally we've always left it extremely late and miss out on loads of sales, no idea why. The away top last year wasn't released until July, hopefully with European games coming it'll be much earlier.

Must be coming quite soon - they've taken all of last season's home kits off the website. They'd taken the top down earlier in the week but now everything including kids is blank.
