Not sure if it’s common knowledge but the second floor of the new stand will be fitted out as a hotel.

Sounds good to me whatever brings in the most income but surely we should have built a crematorium and a trainer shop like Dundee are planning

I assume that Hearts won’t run it but will lease it out to someone?

What?  They aren't building a Celtic Shop in their stand? 😄

I'd imagine we'll run it, plenty full time staff with lots of Hospitality experience kicking around now.

Always fancied being a part owner of a Hotel 😜

No but I would be surprised if they do not at least have a room with a wing back arm chair where Strachan can read them all stories about Celtic legends of the past

It would probably save you a wad of cash.

I’m assuming you have applied for a residency?

Not so sure about this, unless it's top quality 5 star and not a cheap b and b option

I knew it was being proposed, I also know this wouldn't have been possible with the initial plans for the stand.  Income 12 months of the year, especially in Edinburgh.  Amazing work.

Haha who cares, if it's £150 a night for a room and there are 20 rooms, facilities already there to do DB&B.  That's £3000+ per night.

Considering the Sky Line restaurant is high quality and topping Trip Advisor for reviews i would be a bit surprised if we stuck a shan wee B&B underneath it

Think Friday/Saturday nights if we're at home the following day should be £250, Would be good value if they threw in a ticket.

Aye right 😆

It'll be mid-range digs, average Edinburgh standards, under £200 per night, designed for fans visiting Edinburgh and attending games. Will be full most matchdays and will make us some good money since people staying there will use the restaurant, bar, etc.

Do you know how many rooms?

I'd heard 12 initially planned for but due to fire exit issues only slightly more than a handful could be considered.

I saw someone else say that on another thread a few weeks back.

How many rooms would the second floor accommodate? Cant be more than 20 surely, but it can be a more boutique hotel.

Hotels can be a nice revenue earner for clubs, I remember seeing somewhere a few seasons back that half of Killies income came from their hotel. As other says it brings revenue 365 days a year, and with the restaurant and hospitality areas, it can help (you could do a wedding and have rooms at the venue.)

You never know, if it really worked well, Hearts could look to setting up a new hotel elsewhere.

I think a few bucket lists just got a +1.

I wonder if you'll have a pitch view option, watch the match....

Not so sure about the green light but sounds like a dream holiday.

Who would need Pele with pictures of the cup wins adorning the walls.

I am sure it will bring about lines after a 0-0 draw "at least someone is scoring at Tynecastle today."

So what's the thoughts on hotel being open to away supporters or would this business be for HMFC fans only ?

Only those capable of using a knife and fork, preferably simultaneously.

Should have been a strip bar.

Upgrade the hospitality packages.

There are enough tits in the ground on a matchday already.

See when every other kant isn't making money from May-August, we'll be hosting parties like the Wolf of Wall Street.

Someone will moan about the mistreatment of the midgets. We could get a really big cannon outside of the main stand and a big airbag on the centre circle and fire them over the stand.

Didn't the hotel that Kilmarnock FC have (not sure if they still do, or if it was sold on) make them a ridiculous amount of money as a proportion of their overall budget? Sure they got more from that than from actually playing football.

If a shitey place like Kilmarnock can make money, we should be rolling in it. Even if it was £200+ a night, there wouldn't be any issue with filling it year round, and during the Festival, they can charge out the arse for it

Is that the capsule hotel thing Michael Palin visited in "...80 Days"?

Tokyo, iirc. Although he didn't actually spend the night.

Don't blame him. Looked horrendous.

Had to Google.

Quite enjoyed the song. The video reminded me of busking with my 12 string back in the day...

...in no way, whatsoever.

As long as it's a glorious hole then that title is fine

👍

The abomination that is Alan Lugton's "Making of Hibernian" trio of books refers to Tynecastle as "The Hole" all the way through.

Never read such tripe in my puff. The grimmest of fairy tales.

Borrowed, sheepishly, from the library, btw. Always explained to the punter behind the ramp that I was a Hearts fan.
