We went to " The Dome " today. Hadn't been in years.  To be fair to them it was reasonably priced. 2 coffees and 2 scones ( with actually 2 scones each) and jam and cream came to £19  ..  Pleasant surprise in plush surroundings

Serious question, is this sarcasm or is £19 good for £4 worth of produce?

I went to KFC today and got 2 wicked box meals for a tenner, so still deals to be had.

McDonalds are now charging £5.99 for a Big Mac meal, with no offers on just now. Greedy twats

I just assumed it might be more expensive.  AS i said there were 2 scones on each plate . Its usually one. It also included the service charge .  The surroundings were plush and made me feel like i was a high roller. IM not. :)

I get that, nice treat. Just seemed expensive to me. Town centre and nice venue I suppose. You could have had eighteen cans of lager and free best seats in the gardens for than.

I stock piled last autumn when they were four for three quid in Home Bargains.  Still expensive in relation to supermarket brands but at my age there are no pockets in a shroud😄

Stock piled, panic bought...your cards marked...

As are the likes of Heinz and many of the other so called big brands, little wonder the public en-masse, including myself are switching to shops own brands, as they simply can't or won't pay the prices the likes of Heinz et al are charging.  Heinz beans for example are at least 2 to 3 times more expensive to some shops own brand, I don't think Heinz beans are that great to justify that price difference tbh.

Dash it, found out👍

When you have a cupboard shelf empty best to fill it.  In this case it was either tins of soup or my wife buying lots of expensive shoes and handbags.  The soup won😄

So supermarkets are rationing their own brand stuff now?

Is that where we are?

5th largest GDP in the world?

I’m shocked at your angle Cade. 😂

Maybe have a look at the ***** who go around buying far more than they need. There is no stock issues a supermarket is just trying to be fair to all customers.

I didn't really have a point beyond curiosity for how the rest of Europe is managing.

Next time I'll remember the golden JKB rule which is to just aimlessly seethe over Tories.

So true .

It is so that in a couple of weeks time they can discount them to £1.30 to make them look a bargain.  The fact they were only £1 about ten days ago is irrelevant to these bar stewards.  Profit at all cost.  No way is inflation causing such remarkable price increases.  You will probably find they have been stock piling the stuff as well and ensuring even more profit.

Bottom line is folk will not buy them at that price and as I say price drop incoming.  Just wait and see.

It’s a big rip off

Definitely. Every supermarket I go into and the Heinz soup shelf is always fully stocked.

Supermarket own brand is 50p a can

Nobody is buying Heinz over priced product anymore

Even if they halved their prices, I wouldn't buy their stuff again

Can’t stand beans 🫘 yuck

And bingo here it is.  Two weeks later and on the shelf at Sainsbury over that time it does not look like a can of Heinz soup at £1.70 was bought.  Today the robbers have done what was expected and it is now on sale at the bargain price of £1.50!!  It will be the same tins that were on sale for a pound around mid March.  All they have done is what looks like price rigging to me and this is only an example for one item.

Labour MP's have been giving the UK Government figures on these types of examples for months now and nada nothing gets done about it even though it is this blatant.  The Minister responsible for Marker Regulation what are they doing?
