Some of the better looking chaps among us have been McKay fans from day one of course!

He was absolute quality tonight, a joy to watch, that run that left two of them lying on the ground, that's why football's great. Superb stuff.

Said it ages ago - we just needed someone on his wavelength to capitalize on his defence splitters and crosses from both wings into the box.

Gino did that tonight superbly.

Not supporting your team is pretty much the definition of not being a hearts fan.

What about signing for another team in the same league during the season? Is that showing respect to the club and the fans?

Think you got this one wrong.

Given the Rangers result and performance tonight I wouldn't be surprised to See them in for Souttar tomorrow with a decent offer.

Don’t agree with playing him

tonight but might turn out to be masterstroke as rangers might have thought we wouldn’t play him.

As you say after tonight rangers might come back with a decent offer

Garry was a great player but must be around 60 now, it made me smile especially after a great win.

McKay reminds me of why old fashioned wingers were so good to watch. Easy on the ball, always looking to attack and scaring the shit out of full backs. I forgive him losing possession, not tracking back, but when you watch the second goal it makes your season ticket worth it.

Value to us has gone up as its obvious he can play through the noise and fee from Rangers, too.

Playing him tonight also sets down a marker that we plan to play him while he is contracted to us.

That means Rangers now have a couple of things to think about, If they try and hold off to end of Window every chance he will be cup tied by then.
Also showing we won’t leave him to rot in the stands means there is a risk he picks up injuries between now and end of season.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see Rangers try and sort something out this week.

This. People bitching that we are playing our best player. OMG! Some on here shouldnt be allowed access to the internet unsupervised

Only Souttar is not even our best defender, let alone our best player. You shouldn't be allowed to watch football unsupervised.

Bit gutted didn't get to see Natty come on. 2-0 up was perfect time to introduce him imo. Thought Hendo should've replaced McKay too

Can someone please make a gif of Barrie Mckay leaving the two St J players falling over each other in his wake with "Hearts" over McKay and "Clubs that voted to demote Hearts" over the St J players?

3 points and some decent booooing..

Move on..

To be fair to the boo-ers they stuck to their task. They had a strong start, noticeably tired in the middle section of the game then finished strongly. Good work lads.

Good 3 points.

2 points closer to the top.

Poor performance.

😂

I don’t think you would call it a poor performance - not our best but the combinations in the team that needed to work worked well.

It’s a job. He’s got a massive promotion. Best of luck to him, and thanks for the memories.

Thing is tho, he DOES track back. He works his balls off, which is brilliant. Amazing attitude

Wasn't the greatest performance, but it was a performance good enough to beat this StJohnstone team. Opposition didn't have their first corner until the 89th minute!. Two very good goals.

Nick Walsh must have thought St Johnstone were his beloved Sevco as they were wearing Blue tonight. I wouldn't let him referee a primary school game.

Incredible signing. Not at the player I thought he was. That was one of the best passing displays from a single player in one game I've seen for a while. Dribbling and generally running with the ball too.

Did those folk you quoted not see the 5-2 D Utd game or something?

Pretty sure Robbie said on Sportsound that "third, or higher" was the aim.

May have misheard as I'm on a very noisy bus at the monent, but heartening to hear, if so.

MATCH REPORT

https://t.co/e7Xaumc3C4

My take on tonight’s victory.

Eight point gap in third spot now, be disappointed to throw that away.

Barrie McKay just looks head and shoulders above the rest of our wingers in my opinion. So so good.

Thought St J looked okay in spells tonight, reckon they might leapfrog Dundee sooner or later. Ciftci should do enough to aid their cause.

Reads appreciated

Solid performance, always in control.

Gino taken his goals well but his overall quality isn't great, but he did well in that role.

GMS was missing

McKay was a joy to watch, he boy is a player and a level above in technique, awareness, vision and control, folk that don't rate him need to go and watch another sport.

Kingsley was good.

Devlin had some very good moments sprinkled with a few brain farts.

Sad to see Soapy getting booed throughout.

He's really classy, his ability to play a soft, subtle pass while moving at pace is a real weapon, there's an argument to be made for leaving a pacy Gino up front for him to keep playing in.

Superb, if he only could add goals to his game, the EPL would be his next move, hopefully he stays,

I called him as our best signing when we signed him.

One of the few that knew he was a good player.

I'm blowing my own trumpet on this.

If you look at what he does defensively compared to our other forwards, only Boyce does more on that side of the game.

You’re being too modest, R.

At least you’ve got a lovely head of hair, which many on here won’t have!
