Although not the gold that seems like a decent result. The horse is 10 but apparently that's young for dressage.  😁

My only gripe with the coverage is the obsession with switching channels to try and shoe horn horse dancing into my eyes. Its bollocks, I'm not interested!

Did someone mention dancing horses?

Think so.

Do you know why it finished before the clock hit 0.0?

i think it was due to latvia getting a big enough lead that due to the shot clock ROC could not win

Doesn't seem like a lot of fun for the horse.

Trained to do all that(baffles me how), then has its head yanked all ways for 7 minutes, frothing its head off.

Gets a wee carrot when its done.

Germany probably have teams of people attending to them 24 hours a day. Horse porn on the TV...the lot.

Efficency and attention to detail is the key. That's why they own the horse dancing.

I'm sure the German horses, will be big stars in the world of German porn movies.

Possibly cost Italy the silver, on another note how badly have those commentators been at calling what's actually happening?

I reckon they did **** up the Italians chance of a silver but they've accepted their bronze by not appealing.

Shocking bit of steering - guy must be spewing.

I think the subject was the only one who didn't get it. Ironic for a joke which was about him 'getting it'.

Can't see it having been mentioned on the thread, but Murray & Salisbury were knocked out of the tennis by Croatia's Cilic & Dodig.

Why did that Dujardin bint not take a horse that's actually IN the top 100?

How's she expect to win gold with a complete novice carting her about?

It's an American pole vaulter Sam Hendricks who has tested positive, however he has been in close contact with an Australian pole vaulter and as a precaution the entire Australian 63 member track & field team are self isolating.

This is a developing story, don't be shocked if this gets worse.

Ah.

Aussies now out of isolation bar, I think, 3 of them.

The quality of drop kick conversion attempts in the 7s is laughable.

I'm enjoying the chaos of the 7s but wow, some of the attempts at kick a ball through the posts makes it look like they've never tried it before!

Bronze in the men's trap shooting, quickly followed by silver in the women's canoe slalom.

We should really claim that gold in the canoe slalom given her dad is British. Feck it, I am anyway.  😁

Ref wins it for NZ in rugby 7's against GB. GB won every scrum until one they needed to secure win and from nowhere, she gives penalty to NZ. Quickly followed by yellow card for high tackle, after penalising NZ for same offence but without yellowing their player.

Refereeing on reputation, not rules.

Hockey again. Umpire gives penalty flick for non existent foul when Dutch were shooting. I mean, she missed ball completely and GB player didn't touch or obstruct her.

Video review backs umpire when you can see there's no offence.

It's a shocking standard of umpiring considering its Olympics.

I find a lot of what I see during the Olympics very impressive. Hockey is up there. I know from high school how difficult I found it and how useless I was at it, never mind at the pace these ones play it at.

I don't know why they get so excited about penalty corners though. They never score them.

International teams should be aiming for 1 goal in 3 attempts from penalty corners. The suicide run to block was never a favourite of mine, given it was ages before masks and gloves were worn. One Dutch defender doesn't wear mask which these days, is a major risk.

One thing hasn't changed though and that is umpires are terrible. Video should help but the camera work isn't great from whoever is covering. Doesn't help ball goes so fast, but umpires should be doing better.

And before anyone asks, yes I have done it and it isn't easy, but they're supposed to be the elite.

Not impressed with the GB women jersey design. The player's name (in red) is positioned so that half is on white and half is on navy blue rendering it unreadable.

No comment from me on the umpiring as I've never played the game but I'll believe MtS (above).

One last thing. Any chance of BBC using commentator who has actually played hockey and not just random journalist who happens to be available.

He doesn't know why fouls are given or what tactics are being used and just guesses. It's very frustrating.
