Strange that for a marathon runner Paula Radcliffe really

struggles to say any more than 10 words in one

go without having to stop to take

a breath.

Did that driverless car just **** off and leave them at the side of the road?

Or could it be the commentators haven't a clue what's going on?

Haha when they said that I was pissed off the camera switched to the front of the race and we didn't get to see the ****er chasing after the car.

Hope that runner is OK though, he had been going well.

Despite my scepticism at the start of the thread I have actually really enjoyed the Olympics. They've flown by, but I'm also glad they're over and I can watch other TV again.

Really enjoyable Olympics.

Only new sports I didn't get into were the surfing & karate - were a bore compared to the rest which were amazing.

Not a massive fan of elements the BBC coverage - All the family and primary school PE teacher interviews add nothing at all; and the interviewers efforts to make competitors cry was uncomfortable viewing.

Gold for Jason Kenny   blew them away

Absolutely brilliant win. Chris Hoy said he could only remember someone riding off the front once before, so it was a bold decision that had to be taken in the blink of an eye.

Though what the hell the Australian behind him was playing at is hard to fathom.

Lauren Price fantastic win for the gold.    Excellent form throughout.

That Kenyan that got silver for the marathon does not look happy.

Scowling eyes.   😠

Dirty tactics right here.

There was another table full of bottles about 50 yards on. Unless someone went minesweeping there too, I don't think anyone would have been impacted.

Really enjoyed Olympics and overall GB did brilliantly. Rowing pretty much only ones who let themselves down.

Roll on Paris 2024. Timings will be ideal for viewing

We normally do better in the athletics, in saying that injuries to two real medal hopes didn't help, KJT in the heptathlon & Dina in the 100m & 200m.  Where we are a bit short right now is the 400m, especially the mens and we used to be so strong in it, however 3 years down the line, who knows.

Seem to be fine for 100m, 200m, 800m & 1500m, it's just the 400m where we seem to be a bit short in both the flat & the hurdles.

In saying that you have to be off your rocker to run the 400m, ran it once at Meadowbank at New Year, thought my heart & lungs were going to explode , never again, went straight back to the 110m sprint after that.

I'm old fashioned, but when BMX and skateboarding are Olympic sports, it lessens the event all round - imo.

i know we need to bring back tug of war, croquet and motorboat racing

We really don't..but maybe It's a Knockout at  Olympic level would work. Carrying water buckets over rotating greasy logs .

..and here come the Belgians

I think horse-punching is going to finally get the recognition it deserves, too.

UK (Newcastle fan) and Germany (coach) early contenders for gold.

how are they going to get the boxing gloves on the horses

I was more concerned about the mouthguards, TBH.

i hope the judges are strict on the horses kicking and penalise them appropriately

GB

1) Kenny & Archibald winning Maddison for GB athletes,

2) mixed medley swimming gold with couple of Scottish swimmers.

3) Laura Muir silver

4) GB women hockey

5) Tom Daly gold

Non GB,

1) 400 metres hurdles race

2) women's 100 m

3) men's 100 m

4) women's road race cycling

5) India beating GB in men's hockey. Highlighted just how bad selection, coaching and performances are in the mens game.

It's always the team mates that I feel sorry for, they lose their medal because of the cheating of someone else.

That'll be Canada moved up to second, don't know who finished 4th, but they'll get a Bronze now.
