It's GB v India for bronze in women's hockey as Argies play Dutch in final.

I go gold for Dutch and GB will take India (hopefully).

Now for jump off in Equestrian.

Laura Muir into the 1500m Final.

Going to be tough to beat Hassan though.

Hopefully, Hassan putting too much pressure on herself by going for 5,000 & 10,000 m.

Said it before, Hassan is at it big time. Any of the Oregon athletes are suspect (including Farah).

Brutal. On the bright side, Ivona Dadic and Ekaterina Voronina are still in it.

Silver could get an upgrade in a few years.

Other than Laura Muir.

Do we have any genuine medal threats in athletics?

Seen Kenya gold, silver in mens 800m with Dobek of Poland getting bronze.

Got me noticing that Poland are producing good athletes just now. 4 athletics medals now, 2 gold.

The girl that was 4th in the 800 metres, Jemma Reekie. Laura Muir's training partner. She'll improve and be a contender. Callum Hawkins in the Marathon. There are a few others maybe just a bit short of medals but finalists.

Well the girl who finished 2nd in 800m did okay. We have decent men's 1500m runners but not sure they will grab medal.

They should run as team, with two deployed as trippers and blockers. Just take rivals out with craftily placed spike in Achilles or elbow as they try to pass.

Jodie Williams might be a surprise package in the 400 final. She PB'd to finish second in her semi.

Hope I'm wrong but just got a feeling Muir will be 4th.

Hope not. She does race to win though, and as a result, she often risks no medal at all. Have to say, I like the attitude she shows.

Hope so too.

As quick as the 800m was and all the PBs, I think she would have ran a PB too and be right in the mix.

Hopefully it ends up the correct decision to focus on one event.

Happy to be corrected but seeing Carlin and Kenny both competing in the Sprints takes me back to Lobdon 2012 where only 1 rider per nation was allowed.

GB went for Kenny, with I think Hoy injured for part of season.

In previous (pre 2012) Olympics more than 1 rider per nation was allowed.

Kenny now GBs leading Olympian but for a bit of ICU politics, it could still have been Hoy.

Is there a dedicated Athletics channel anywhere. Sick of BBC chopping about and changing channels.

Local tines obviously  deduct 8 hrs

The way I remember it was Hoy stepped aside as Kenny was the up and coming rider. I agree shocking to limit each nation to 1 rider per event.

It's a problem. I've avoided looking online being burnt a couple of times.

Sorry.

Hoy and Kenny were pretty much guaranteed 1st and 2nd in whichever order.

It was an ICU political decision, imo.

Yep to clarify my earlier one I'm sure Hoy was "asked" to step aside rather than deciding himself. Which I think was wrong as for me Hoy was still the faster rider in 2012

Kenny looking at retirement as he is getting well beaten by top riders. He simply can't compete with Dutch guys and Carlin anymore.

No it's not. 1st in the velodrome though. We have two BMX golds and a mountain biking gold and lead the biking medal table.

An Olympics too far by the looks of it, the postponement won't have done him any favours if he was already on the slide.

Silver medal is decent.

But its true. And UK Cycling should learn from the Ed Clancy debacle as well you can't give in to the reputations which they have done a bit down the years.

Shame for Lewandowski having to pull up in the mens 1500 metres there. Mind you he's had a long season with Bayern M and of course the Euros.

The Polish womens 4x400 was of excellent quality.

A wee bit quicker than GB's time, but GB had fight hard to get their automatic  place.

The Polish side looked comfortable  with room for quicker.
