I understand why it might seem a bit harsh, but realistically it creates a dangerous precedent for others to try and claim they didn't know they were dead. I've got to take a zero tolerance approach here.

Like I said in my last post, I get that it was an accident rather than anything malicious or an attempt to cheat. It's just a dangerous road to go down where I'm seen to ignore it. I tried to come up with a punishment that wasn't too harsh on the town as a result.

The Auditors were feeling pretty happy with themselves after they'd heard the news about Commander Vimes. Things were looking good for them already. Except for one small setback.

 

One of the Auditors decided it wanted to move on someone else. But it wasn't the time or the place. It was, however, the time and place for an anthropomorphic personification to claim another victim.
