Cade
The Tour de France sign woman who caused the giant crash has been handed a 4 month suspended jail term after a one-day trial in Brest. No idea if that was the only punishment or if she was fined too. In happier TDF news, the women's Tour is going to be 8 stages next year. Which is superb. None of this single stage tokenism pish. A proper race.
Tazio
Some decent racing at the track world championships for GB. Especially from Scotland’s own Katie Archibald. Four races and four medals, of all varieties and just won a hugely tough silver in the points race which is an absolute killer of a race. She looked like she might scrape a bronze if she was lucky and just touched it out on the last dozen laps and ended up getting the silver by a fair margin. She’s a great rider and personality. Cade
Points races are always good fun but demand total concentration even for the viewer to keep up with what's happening on the track. It's crazy that the skiing season has started already and bike racing is still going.

Tazio
Alex Dowsett currently attempting to regain the hour record live on iPlayer. It’s an absolute killer of a record to try and get, it’s being able to survive the last few laps. Of course when Jens Voigt surprised everyone and went for it and took the record he went full Jens and actually was faster at the end than he was at the start as he was one of the oddball types that enjoyed the suffering. He doing it to raise money and awareness of a charity he runs as amazingly for a pro athlete he’s a haemophilia sufferer. I really can’t think of a worse sport for someone with that condition. Cade
Mark Cavendish was caught up in an armed robbery of his house last night. He'd only just gotten out of intensive care after a cycle crash and was beaten by housebreaking robbers last night. They also threatened his wife and kids and made off with a haul of expensive watches. Essex, man. What a shitehole.

Cade
Egan Bernal has somehow managed to crash into the back of a huge, red, stationary bus during winter training in Colombia. He's broken his kneecap and femur. Edited January 24, 2022 by Cade

Olympic gold in XC mountain bike, WC in CX, and already has one of the Flanders spring classics in his record on the road. I’m not sure he’ll ever be winning any of the grand tours but I wouldn’t write it off. Certainly a serious force in one day races. He got the skill for Paris-Roubaix but I’m not sure he’s got the power for it.
Cade
Volta a la comunitat Valenciana starts today, on Eurosport 2 from 3pm Remco Evenepoel, Vincenzo Nibali, Alejandro Valverde, Mataj Mohoric, Fabio Jakobsen, Alexander Kristoff, Teo Geoghegan Hart and Jack Haig are among the competitors. 5 stages in total over the next 5 days. Meanwhile, in France, the Etoile de Bessèges - Tour du Gard is on at the same time but not on Eurosport. Michal Kwiatkowski, Filippo Ganna, Greg Van Avermaet, Alberto Bettiol, Magnus Cort, Tony Gallopin, Mads Petersen and Pascal Ackermann feature here. 5 stages over the next 5 days. There is also the Saudi Tour, which started yesterday, but that's pish. Flat riding through featureless terrain does not good viewing make. Tazio
The Saudi tour is a group training ride with a sprint at the end. Big year for Evenepoel this season. Tazio
I’d be interested to see what wheels they are running. If they are running tall aero rims then the sidewinds will be more problematic as they will be making the bikes unstable.
