Very good signing for them unfortunately (If it happens). Through gritted teeth I'd say they're building a decent squad. Ron Gordon must have a bit of cash if he's willing to sanction more signings. Hopefully the pandemic has hit him hard and they can go back to being a joke. That said, the quicker we're back in the top league to compete for signings like Cadden the better.

Aberdeen have a great recent track record of signing players who were good here, went to England and weren't entirely successful and moved back up the road. Hibs have started doing it more recently too.

 

They know the league, they are proven, they can hit the ground running. It's the market we should be focused on most.

I know what you mean about Dunne. However there's a wee chance that their manager will be looking to recruit. Dunne may or may not be out of his plans so it wouldn't do any harm to issue a note of interest just incase others get in. It's the old saying...you don't ask, you don't get.

I'm not ITK but had read a while back on here that he was heading back to France in January to join a French club.

 

No idea if that is fact or just heresay.  I did see this about him recently though.

It's been frustrating to see those two signing players that would improve our team over the last few years. It's no coincidence they are sitting top half SPL while we're prancing about in the Championship. It comes back yet again to recruitment and scouting and it makes you wonder what's going on at Hearts.

So hopefully we will start to see some better signings than we have had in recent years.

Fingers crossed. We had a good reputation years ago with signings and it's been slipping in the last four years or so.

It certainly has. It just goes to show that often players that seem to be decent signings on paper turn out to be rather a waste of time and effort.

 

There is always an element of luck in signing a player that does well but if proper background/fitness/injury checks are all done well then that should minimise the risks.

I know that.

 

Luic took a knock to his ankle/heel in the league opener against Dross county last season.

His first league game for us, had a tough time since with it.

He returned to France for a while due to the restrictions.

At the moment he is working away on his fitness along with Souttar .

That is as much as we know right now.

We were sitting in the top half of the SPL for several years and would be again now with our current squad and relative lack of injuries. We are where we are now thanks to a very high level of injuries a year or two back, a collective loss of self belief and finally the machinations of Doncaster and the self interest of other clubs.

Frear, Roberts, Walker, and Moore offer nothing at all from an end product, and Ginelly has not played much due to injuries.

 

Need effective wide player alternatives like Ginelly who can go by players and steal a yard on their opponent.  The others don't have the pace and are forever turning back or not getting the ball into the box.
