Hope all the pretendy Man U fans who latched on to them during the Fergie years are absolutely spewing.

More likely Liverpool ones. They both like to claim Irish links, much like Celtic.

Liverpool claim no such thing.  The team originally known as "The Anfielders" became to be known as "Team of the Macs", due to the number of Scottish players.

Opportunity missed by Liverpool today to inflict Man Utd's heaviest home defeat in their history

Still stands as 1-7 to Newcastle in 1927

How can you prefer one of those teams over the other ?

Quite easily when Rangers play Celtic I want them to win. Simple really.

That's bizarre

I couldn't give a shit who wins between them unless it's a good result for Hearts

Apart from more loyal types, who favour the Man Utd jersey due to a certain George Best.

I'm not convinced they don't just have 3 or 4 of them, and swap them out depending on who does best at the weekend.

It isn’t really and it’s not bigoted or anything.  You can simply hate one club more and that club is Celtic.

Used to be Celtic for me but currently it’s Rangers, not much in it though.

Right now, you have a point.  Next old firm match I’ll be on the fence but I’ll be honest and say at times I watch and hope rangers pump them.  Right now it’s about half and half.

The Old Tolbooth

Absolutely loved that result smashing the dirty Mancs today, the only down side is that Ole will probably be shown the door, I really want him to stay!

Next home game for them is Man City, wash, rinse, repeat, another hammering coming up, lovely! 😂

They are football socialists. You aren’t allowed to enjoy anything.

I am a Hearts fan and a socialist I enjoy things, does that cause you problems?

There are no words for how much I hate this. There's having a favourite English and/or European team as your kind of second team like most football fans in Scotland, but this.... Liverpool get relegated and these people will find a new hobby.

From a Reddit forum: Who are The Reds? FC Liverpool or Manchester United?

"As a relatively fresh PL fan, I was thinking "The Reds" are Liverpool. Reading PL stuff, many times I caught myself thinking "This news is some kind of nonsense"... Till today, when my brain translated the news like "Solskjær, the coach of Liverpool (the Reds)..." a bell rang :) Just thinking how many times I must have looked like an idiot in conversations, based on the distorted understanding of news I had."

A "PL fan" writes.

Why would it. They are exactly the same. Two Scots who look down on Scottish football and wouldn't be able to tell you who Hearts played yesterday.

Fair point, I was laughing more at the pictures.

Is it capitalism saving lives in Scottish hospitals every day, without anyone having to pay a penny for their treatment?

The correct answer for ever and ever is surely "two cheeks of the same arse"?

far from dead.

In it’s true form it can never be achieved because of human involvement. Also it stifles any economic prosperity. It’s failed consistently over the last 100 years.

It’s not to be fair. Sometimes I dislike one more than the other.

If rangers come to town and do us over with a shambolic decision which has happened lots then I’m inclined to want Celtic to win a derby if it’s in a week or so.

Generally, deep down I would rather rangers win an old firm derby.  It’s probably rooted to my dislike of plastic Irish and the fact a lot of their support don’t support Scotland.  Then there’s the songs of actual terrorise of British.  I hate Celtic.  They are scum.  We say hibs are scum junkies whatever, some of it is tribalism. My hate of Celtic isn’t. They are scum

They come as a pair. They vote together, plot to leave Scottish football together, keep sectarianism and Irish politics alive in Scotland together, and are maybe the only two rival clubs in the world to have a joint nickname. They've even shared the same sponsor in the same season.

Its a nationalised not socialised health service in a capitalist economy.

And who created this health service? Pretty sure it was a socialist. Socialism might be dead as a viable political system but it's still responsible for our health system.

I’m glad you agree it’s dead as a viable political or financial system. It was formed post war under socialist principles but wouldn’t be about today if it functioned under a socialist economy.

The link between clubs and fans is still surprisingly good. Players especially make time for fans.

One of the reasons guys like Guardiola praise English football and it is perhaps not just money that attracts and keeps them there.

He does. No idea about Dalglish

You could give Ronaldo a pass but the rest of the Man U team is not good enough.

He should’ve been sent off in the first half, if that had been someone like Xhaka nobody would argue about it.
What else did he do, work hard 🤣😂?!?!

How signing has placed more pressure  on a poor manager and seems to have left the team spirit worse than ever.

Fergie never left Prince Andrew. They still live together, just not in public.
