I also (through family connections decades ago) take an interest in Liverpool, I try to attend Anfield a couple of times per season and have seen them win the European Cup 'live' in the past and of course love to see them win never mind win with style as they did today. All clubs go through cycles and at some point Manchester United will 'recover'....they are just too big not to to do so but until then lets see them go through a couple of decades of non success just as clubs such as Liverpool will have fallow periods in the future. But they also both have plenty of fans in Greater Manchester and Merseyside respectively. It's really quite similar to the Old Firm in Scotland.
