In total agreement with regards to Mike Read; toss up between him and Noel Edmonds as to who is the biggest tosspot. Anyway, dead easy this one. Connection revealed later but if you know, feel free to add to the list.

1. Our Lips Are Sealed - Fun Boy Three.

2. Have I The Right - The Honeycombs

3. Venus In Furs - Velvet Underground

I happened to be watching a Communards video t'other night and was going to post that up but a bit of checking revealed that it would have linked even more strongly to your Fun Boy Three one.

The Communards would work for this one. To clarify on one of the songs in my original list, Our Lips Are Sealed would work with both original and cover version.

Another (probably equally easy) challenge.

Add more to the list

Tom Jones - Green, Green Grass of Home

Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You

Alexandra Burke - Hallelujah

Assuming the link isn't the same as last one:

Rush (Jennifer) - The Power of Love ?

2. Let's Go To San Francisco - The Flowerpot Men

3. Beach Baby - First Class

Feel free to add

Right!

I'm totally confused on which songs relate to whose theme. I haven't an inkling for either your's (J.W.) or Boof's. And, to you, J Dubya, does your bump list add to your earlier list? Or have you got two on the go?

I have another up my sleeve but you're not getting it until I get to the bottom of this lot :D

For @Boof, I would possibly suggest Mull of Kintyre by Wings?

And that's another

Think I only have one on the go now, and a dead easy one at that. The one with FB3 and The Honeycombs is done I think.

Are you sure about Jennifer Rush?

If so, then I got lucky with Mull of Kintyre (which is on the same list as the other three under a particular theme). My theme would also have Mr Blobby and three Spice Girls songs.

Actually - they both link to Edison lighthouse but I'm not sure about First Class.

Female drummers.

Thanks, Tazio.

I wouldn't have got that in a hundred years.

As for the other one... I've "worked out" a link but wouldn't describe it as easy unless you really know your session musicians.

That would have been the previous one I did that felix referred to in his answer. Mr Blobby and the Spice Girls don't appear on this list.

So the first list is UK Christmas number 1s

The second, though???

B-b-but all 3 of the second list were UK Christmas number ones and Jennifer Rush wasn't. What's going on here???

So, are we clear of both of Boof's rounds and JWL's so called "easy" round about Wossname, the session singer who sang on about 5 obscure tracks in the early '70s? (Seriously, whoever came up with Brotherhood of Man has no excuse to not get any other theme instantly).

If so, I can start a new theme tomorrow that might not be as "easy" by the JWL definition but you'll all get.

I noticed a distinct similarity between the two lists but didn't actually spot the Rush connection - that was felix's handiwork :D

Wish I had...

That looks like a list of UK No1 instrumentals, so you could add:- The Good The Bad & The Ugly and Axel F, to the list.

I've got one for later, but look forward to IPK's new one today.

Okay, here we go again. Dead easy this one.

1. Message in a Bottle - The Police

2. Lady Marmalade - Labelle

3. Five Get Over Excited - The Housemartins

Fair play to anyone who can add to the list.

That's a stinker. Struggling for a link between the first & third songs / artists.

I'm nowhere with JWL's latest "easy" one.

I said I'd pop up another today so here goes.

As ever, if you think you spot the link, name a fifth song to go with these four:

A Whiter Shade Of Pale - Procol Harum

Russians - Sting

Altogether Now - The Farm

Bad Romance - Lady Gaga

Probably best to either quote this post when you nominate your fifth or make it clear that you'd guessing at mine, not JWL's

Sorry, John. I thought I'd replied yesterday - mustn't have hit "send".

Two Tribes is along the right lines (I had to look it up) but not, strictly, in the theme.

Hmmm.......................a wee bit stumped then; would Back in the USSR work with this one?

Afraid not. I don't think there's anything in the Beatles' canon that falls into this category.

I think you've got the correct theme but are going more leftfield with your suggestion. If I'm right, you're going "sampled" when I've gone "inspired by" or "nicked shamelessly from".

This may also be the case with Two Tribes being nominated by @JWL
