It ought to help.

I nearly gave a hint but it's a wee bit too soon for that.

Aye, I know it oughta..but these songs/artists don't have any connection in my Saturday night state.

Is a lyrical , band related or something else ?

Band related.

Beatles - I Want to Hold Your Hand does fit

Beatles - Hey Jude doesn't

...at least as far as I can tell...

There's no way I'm You Tubing Achy Breaky Heart or I'll Be Your Baby Tonight, so I give up.

Don't You Want Me - The Human League

Hmmm - not that I can unearth...

@felix If Nirvana is more up your street - Where Did You Sleep Last Night is the one that clinched it for me.

I'll concede on the Achy Breaky nonsense but I'll Be Your Baby Tonight is a tune :D

Good riff , but still none the wiser.

Can't admit to liking anything UB40 nasal vocalist Ali Cambell ever did 🙉

That's a go-er.

Human League might've worked - I just couldn't find an example of it.

Right handed here. For some reason the answer just jumped out at me.

Trivia fact. Dave Wakeling from The Beat and Gruff Rhys both play left handed guitars strung right handed so the heavy E string is at the bottom.

Wouldn't have got that in a month of Sundays 👍

I liked my first thought:  the original list  are all Brummies.

I guess Billy Ray kinda scuppered that idea

I'm doing the same type of quiz with work colleagues in a WhatsApp group which is where I came across the Kurt Cobain video. Prior to that I hadn't the foggiest notion that he was a lefty - never having watched any Nirvana. A wee bit of research chucked up loads more - YouTube was a big help. But when someone posted Dolly Parton I had to watch a few clips of backing bands to see whether or not I could give it an aye or nay!

Respect for watching Dolly vids :smiley2:

Your original list were Brummies, then someone correctly guessed Purple Haze, so I (wrongly)thought - same song title , different song by someone else -eg Purple Haze ; Hendrix/Cure.

Raging.

Definitely works - think this (lefty guitar (or bass) players) one can go to bed now.

Ha! I hadn't seen this page. Deprived of internet for the weekend; I was quite proud of myself working this one out!

Bob Geldof, too. Looks really weird seeing inverted chords played in the mirror :D

Quite right too! Without internet I couldn't even have come up with a fraction of the folk I did!

This one still live - for now. Shouldn't take long with Springsteen in it.

Haha! I came back to it after your PM feeling inadequate that I hadn't made headway despite knowing all three songs reasonably well. Too many lyrics in them for me to concentrate.

Did we ever get an answer for Boof's last one?

Anyway, wee bump and a dead easy on to kick off with.

1) California Dreaming - The Mamas and The Papas

2) Do you really want to hurt me - Culture Club

3) Mirror Man - Human League

Feel free to add

This isn't easy. :D

It's been a while but I know remember that JWL has a different dictionary to mine, at least the entry for "easy" :D

Would Tusk by Fleetwood Mac fit your bill?

Woof!! Got it in one.

If I'm right about the theme, I think I get this one on multiple counts.

Another nomination would be Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band with The Rising but not Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band with Born to Run.

Nice. You’re working to the same theme as me.
