Malinga the Swinga
Well there you go then. The Scottish people have spoken and Not Guilty he is (well apart from the one Not Proven one). Does throw up the question about Nicola Sturgeon and when she first new about. According to reports on news, she told Parliament it was one date, but in court, she knew about it 5 days before that. Lying to parliament is one thing, being caught lying is another. Shame about Sturgeon because she is doing a reasonably good job in the virus management stakes. Fall out may take a while but repercussions throughout political establishment will be seismic.

Mikey1874
2 things that struck me strongly 1. A long while ago, early on Alex Salmond said he hadn't been the best person he could. 2. OTT
I don't understand why the PF would bring a criminal case when the civil case fell on its arse and that has a lower burden of proof (see Goodwillie getting sued by his victim despite getting off on the criminal side). Suspect theres more to this.

JimmyCant
Good outcome for those who value the principals of British Justice . A series of inapropriate pervy behaviour at worst prosecuted in the high court only because of an unreliable intent to rape charge trumped up because of who he is. What reputation he had left is probably correctly in tatters but none of the conduct should have seen the light of day in a courtroom ordinarily Edited March 23, 2020 by JimmyCant

AlimOzturk
One thing I will say is that Salmond has been lucky his case has been overshadowed by the Covid 19 scare. Make no mistake the press would have ultimately been hounding him and this would ultimately have a influence over any jury. Anyways, he goes off and continues his life. Would be funny if he makes a play to be first minister again. Nicola sturgeon could be vunerable ATM and Salmond might be able to take advantage (no pun intended lol)

The Mighty Thor
Now that the judicial process has run its course, questions need asked about how some of the charges got to the stage of being heard at high court level?
