🤣

Sorry! That would have been more than a ‘somewhat disappointed.’

Yeah me too. She’s had a few issues but at 73….

Nice! We've just arrived in Barcelona for it as well and Arab Strap were on the same flight

Didn't actually manage to catch Arab Strap apart from hearing the last song from a distance!

Got tickets for Beth Gibbons next week. Then seen that she only does her solo stuff bar one song. 😴

They were great. Doom laden Scottish music on the sunshine was great I have to say.

Hope you enjoyed the festival and didn't get too soaked on the last night!

Mrs Kalamazoo has just bought us tickets to see Dogstar in August. I think she just wants to ogle the bassist.

We watched a bit of them at Primavera (my wife wanted to see them as well...), their own stuff was OK but they did do a good Cure cover.

The bass player is a good looking lad to be fair.

Watched the first two PJ Harvey songs before the rain came then headed for shelter in the food court. Managed to catch all of Bikini Kill and stay dry which was a bonus. Already planning our trip for next year!

Went to a couple of things during the week – Redolent (currently Edinburgh’s best prospect at some kind of success) at Sneaky Pete’s and James King and the Lone Wolves at Stereo.

I’ve got a busy week ahead:

Tuesday - Chastity Belt at Room 2
Thursday – Afterlands at Leith Depot

Saturday - Dragged Up at Leith Depot - their album ‘High on Ripple’ is my album of the year so far.

Sunday - Fat White Family at the Garage

Anybody else going to see Chic at the Playhouse tonight. Their setlist looks like a disco greatest hits so I will have to shake my old bones down.

Nile came on stage saw a seated audience and ordered everyone to their feet and launched into Le Freak and the place was bouncing - the Playhouse don't like the audience singing or standing up too. But it was hit after hit and a great night. Nile made the mistake of saying great to be in the UK and was drowned out by Scotland followed by a chorus of no Scotland no partty. At this point he knelt down to the audience. Fair to say they love playing and the audience loved them. https://x.com/nilerodgers/status/1802849654490427559?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^tweet

Went to London for both Foo Fighters gigs.  Got in Gold Circle both times.

Taylor Hawkins son, Shane, did a great job on I'll Stick Around on the Thursday and My Hero last night.  After which he went over and hugged Dave Grohl, which was emotional to see.

Setlist was mixed up for both nights with some older songs that rarely got played in recent tours.

Saw them at the Hydro in December.  That was an album show.  I think this one will be a hits show.

I have The Manics/Suede gig the following week there too.

A couple of times I've been tempted but never got round to buying a ticket.

Will check my schedule.  I added Goodbye Mr Mackenzie and Paul D'ianno tickets for Edinburgh also.

I read about Pearl Jam cancelling their gig at Spurs with one day’s notice.  I wasn’t going but it did make me think. When you get a refund, do you get all your fees back, or do you normally end a few pounds down for zero product?

I'm sure you don't get the booking fee back

Kasabian last night at the corn exchange were absolutely phenomenal, still one of the best live bands on the planet.

Shoutout to whoever got the chant of “hibs are falling apart again” going

How was it?  I missed the chance to see them around this time last year in Vicar Street, Dublin (compact venue with about a thousand capacity).  I had to be somewhere else.

She is getting preventative chemo after having something cancerous removed from her. All further dates for that Heart tour have been cancelled

Really good, it was a packed outdoor venue in a great waterfront location and we were in the third row so Jr. was happy. Biggest chant of the night was for Jackie the sign language interpreter who really got into the swing of things (apparently she does this for all the big acts at the festival each year, and she spends a ton of time learning all the lyrics ahead of time)
