The fact its a low crowd expected v the TV audience means I think this will go ahead. Just need to paddle down from stirling in time for kickoff.

Outside OF games it will likely be their biggest crowd of the season.

In comparison to their horrible neighbours it is small though.

Not the worst news, would have been nice to finally get a win but the crap conditions would have just made tonight a lottery.

our biggest hope for tonight was that st mirren played over 2 hours of footy during the week

Why is it off ,when the Falkirk game went ahead in worse conditions.

Different storm, different stadium, different part of the country, different playing surface...etc, etc.

8 days to prepare for Rangers. 8 days for Boyce, Sibbick, Hickey, Smith, Clare to shake off niggles. 8 days for Stendel to work with the players. Next game against a side we’ve all ready beaten. Happy with the postponement.

I'll be watching 1917 tonight then instead.

Happier times.

Probably better conditions as well.

Being a lottery might have given us a better chance these days? Not sure.

We dont all live in edinburgh mate. Its a small number travelling. It wont influence the game being on or not.

If the police deem it a danger to life to travel yes it will!!!

From last weeks Rangers game the SPFL said it was UEFA guidance to try and get game played in the following 24 hrs.  Given forecast easing and no Policing issues as neither of the arse cheeks playing in Glasgow tomorrow, as well as St Liedown having a packed schedule this may well Still happen tomorrow.  Just don’t buy any pies as prob reheated .....

To clarify, do you mean Linwood is a hole as in a dive or the whole town is built in a hole and therefore susceptible to flooding.....

It is lower than what paisley is and it is also a dive.

This could be a good thing as it will give the injuries/knocks to respond to treatment and help DS and his staff to work on the players fitness, playing system, confidence ect.

Maybe not so good for our travelling support but at least no one will be injured because of the bad weather conditions.

That means we are going into another month bottom of the league can’t see any way out of this now

The game will still get played. It will just be rescheduled.

We still have the same number of games to play... what difference does the month make?

That makes no logical sense whatsoever. Other than the fact it’s March soon. 🤷‍♀️

Good choice.  Watched it the other week with my boy and both of us enjoyed it.

I didn’t say the game was going ahead at all.  In contrary I suggested it was best being called off because of the condition of the pitch and the safety of the public.

Quick decision before majority of fans head out. Can’t complain in that regard.

Correct Boab, I wasn’t going tonight but nothing worse than travelling to a game to find it’s been called off.

The Falkirk game should have been called off as well imo.

Anyway they had a plastic pitch.

Given the teams involved, it's a pretty decent crowd. Was never going to be a capacity crowd or whatever. I assume not all fans, but probably at least 1,000, are coming from Edinburgh on a Friday evening. Traffic and trains are already busy without added complications of road closures and delays or restricted networks on trains if any.

I'm not really looking forward to going through. Was up for this game for a while, but genuinely hoping it's off now.

I didnt say it wasnt a decent crowd just that its a small number. Few roads shut between here(stirling) and there so I wasnt looking forward to the trip but would have tried.

We are still awaiting the arrival of the referee ahead of the inspection

GAME OFF! Following a pitch inspection at the Simple Digital Arena, referee Alan Muir has deemed that tonight's match against @JamTarts will not go ahead. https://twitter.com/saintmirrenfc/

6 mins for the ref to arrive and call the game off. Either the pitch was like the Commie or he's ended up swimming to the ground.

Im thinkjng the polis have probably advised him too.
