Then ban cars.

Youd save more lives.

Or grapes, which are more dangerous to children than c-19

You can’t catch illnesses from cars or grapes though

Consistent with the fact that excess deaths have been lower than the five year average since June. Generally speaking Covid killed people a few weeks or at most months before they would have died.

Covid persists on hard surfaces blah.

Wipe down your laptops .

My kids have had to buy their own chrome books in case they caught Covid from sharing school equipment .

So I’m afraid the government says otherwise .

After each patient we have to wipe down chairs, tables, handles, our keyboards and so on.

So yes, as well as a choke hazard, grapes are a vector for transmission .

You are told not to approach people who are not wearing them as some people have a legitimate reason.

I take it you never watched that video a few pages back where some smartass got knocked out for mask shaming people?

Great that in a democracy the government has made parties illegal.

Passed another law in haste curbing freedom.

You can really tell she doesn’t have kids........ or ever had fun.

Did you check that the masks they pulled out of their pockets or bags were

- if disposable never worn before

- if washable had been washed since their last use.

If not you are failing in your role as mask enforcer.

As long as they have a mask on it’s better than nothing

I nipped into Lidl this afternoon and only one woman was maskless and nobody blinked an eye.

She was in front of me putting her trolley back and the smoke from the fag hanging from her mouth was blowing into my face. That pissed me off a wee bit though

She had no reason to not wear a mask then if she is able to smoke

For six months until a few weeks ago the "science" said otherwise and that masks could if used improperly do more harm than good. In fact I am not sure that "science" has changed.

What is the science behind your opinion?

Smoking reduces your risk of Covid,

I should be allowed to smoke in work and Tesco’s INSTEAD of a mask,

and blowing the smoke on others might save their lives.

preferably whilst taking the grapes from their trollies and smashing them as a safety measure

Famously nicknamed "seaweed" because even the tide wouldn't take her out.

Exactly they just want to be seen to be doing something.

The wearing of masks improperly can do more harm

I know , even more incredible is that people are accepting this.  I work alongside the police and they won't be happy with yet another unenforceable piece of legislation they will struggle to enforce.

1522 new positive cases in the UK, a wee bit higher than normal.

767 in hospital with 64 in ventilator beds. That seems a bit lower.

12 deaths in all UK settings

10000 children off school with symptoms is not panic?

If they are genuine cases then it is a worry.

More likely kids just playing up and pretending to gullible parents.

I heard about someone being sent home from school supposedly ill along with three other classmates.

The four of them just happen to be best mates. Coincidence ? 🤔

In England the rules are you can meet up in a group of 6 from 2 households.

In Scotland the rules are you can meet up in a group of 8 from 3 households.

I probably should have checked to see if it was different in England before booking a big hoose in Blackpool for our family, my sister and her family and our mum. 8 of us from 3 households.

Stuff 'em.

I do remember reading a while back that someone suggested when the end of the year comes the overall death total might not be that different to normal. The theory being that many of those dying from covid would have been highly likely to die this year anyway, potentially as part of flu mortality.

Wouldn't be any need for all these restrictions if people behaved responsibly.

Judging by some of the posts on here that's not likely to happen.

I think you'll definitely be fine. The other week at Haggerston there was about 13 people crammed into an 8 berth caravan and the overcrowding is happening constantly this season. Nobody seems to be giving a feck.

Folk are just going mental for holiday parks after lockdown

At least twice as many people on average  die daily of flu every year. In a bad year 5 times as many. In a very bad year 20 times as many. For a century and more we have lived with this risk without lock downs, masks, reductions in our freedom to meet who we want, hold parties weddings and funerals,

attend football  and and without all the other restrictions we have now. And without a massive economic slump and all the other longer term effects of the current insanity.

Mandatory mask wearing in public places in Paris from tomorrow.

Only a matter of time before it's the same in the UK (thank feck I live in the country and don't come into contact with many people)

And the Czech Republic, Switzerland & Jamaica have just been added to the list of 14 day quarantine.

Watch Greece, won't be long until they are on the list as well.

I honestly cant understand the reasoning behind mandatory mask wearing in public.  Whatever side of the argument people are on about Covid ( lockdown v Lockdown etc) most people , joe public plus the scientists  agree that its highly unlikely that the virus is transmitted outside.  So the question is why?
