Instead of sounding off, do some basic research. What you really mean is, you're one of those who aren't convinced that Covid is really that big a deal & until someone puts out data (hard hitting ? - whatever that is) that satisfies you, that's the way it'll stay. Seriously...is that the best you can come up with to knock a valid and fairly reasonable question i had with regards to where covid death/infection rates compare with other serious and/or life threatening illnesses?? I've afforded you the courtesy of reading the article from the link you posted. From what I can see, you've posted a link to the effects of covid written by someone affiliated to Oxford University trust. There's no figures, only reference to a study carried out on less than a hundred folk in Beijing who contracted SARS. Infact, it goes on to say the longterm effects to them after contracting SARS was infact minor. It states that study is not comparable to COVID sufferers as the 71 folk studied were predominately under the 45 year age group. I'm struggling to see the point you were trying to get at with regards to me asking where COVID sits in comparison to infections/deaths on other deadly diseases?? For a bit balance, a quick Google search tells me for the years 2015-17, an average of 165000 people died of cancer in the UK per year, so 450 people PER DAY. thats just cancer, heart and circulatory disease deaths are very similar figures at 170,000 a year in the UK. I would like a bit transparency on how many people had underlying health issues before they contracted Covid? Ultimately, the aggressive nature of the COVID virus most likely killed them off but when you consider their immune systems were most probably far weaker than the average healthy citizen its no surprise they sadly passed away. A breakdown on age groups too would probably point to the over 65 age group who are on average, more vulnerable to suffering more when catching most illnesses due to weakening immune systems with age. By publishing official figures, that would save me and you submising things and we could all take a view after having the proper facts. There are more and more scientists and health professionals of the opinion that we shouldve all went about our daily lifes as normal (albeit with a bit more caution on hygiene, distancing and socialising) and shielded or at least offered vulnerable category people the choice to shield rather than having a full scale lockdown. The more this goes on and the more facts and figures are uncovered on this, I am inclined to agree with that view. I'm no more of a scientist or expert on these matters than you are but I'm no idiot either. When a government advisor clearly breaks the rules that he helped set then has the audacity and arrogance to hold his own press conference to dig a bigger hole for his lies instead of owning up for just being a twat, I have a real issue believing anything the people in charge say as being the truth. There's a few interesting interviews with high profile people floating about out there which you might find interesting to counter balance your blind faith. I dont have Facebook but my wife showed me a video from sky news Australia this morning about an official tearing strips off the government there for the way they have crushed the economy over there and he quoted some very interesting figures for deaths on other diseases compared to Covid. Hopefully you can find it or maybe someone on here who may have also watched it could post a link to it.

Yea I get what you mean, I am happy I can go for a pint with mates and play football. I also totally understand why I can’t meet up at my parents house with my family - the government can’t tax that. Their policy is really nothing to do with where infection rates happen, they want to try and strike a balance between helping the economy and slowing down the virus - Me sitting in my mates house doesn’t help either.
