JackLadd
Just wish they had been allowed to die like Bury, sadly they were watp reanimated and enabled by a corrupt league and association and as a result think they can swagger about the continent up to their knees. Wrong place to do that I'm afraid.

If UEFA is as good as its word, then TRFC will play its next game behind closed doors if found guilty of a second offence. The fact that the previous ruling didn't come out until Friday of last week, means that the club will seek to claim that they had no opportunity to make fans aware of the implications of a repeat breach before the first leg of the Legia tie. That doesn't really wash as the club would have been aware of the original charge long before that game, but chose not to do anything about it. i think that is why they will reject any away tickets to try and mitigate this and to try and prevent ibrox being closed. that is the real reason they are doing it not to try and stamp it out

Footballfirst
I'm sure that many TRFC fans will think they are being singled out by UEFA. They could not be more wrong. Other cases decided this month for breaches of Article 14 involving racist conduct: Quote partial closure of the PFC Levski Sofia Stadium during the next one (1) UEFA competition match in which PFC Levski Sofia would play as the host club, for the racist behaviour. - to order FK Partizan to play its next two (2) UEFA competition matches as host club behind closed doors, for the racist behaviour of its supporters. - to order a partial closure of the PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv 1926 stadium during the next one (1) UEFA competition match in which PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv 1926 would play as the host club, for the racist behaviour of its supporters. to suspend the FK Ventspils player Makhnovskyi Kostiantyn for ten (10) UEFA competition matches for which he would be otherwise eligible, for racist conduct. - to order FC Dinamo Tbilisi to play its next UEFA competition match as host club behind closed doors for the racist behaviour of its supporters. to fine FC Dinamo Tbilisi €50,000 for the racist behaviour of its supporters. - to order Universitatea Craiova to play its next three (3) UEFA competition matches as host club behind closed doors, the third of which is suspended for a probationary period of two (2) years; - to fine Universitatea Craiova €60,000. redjambo
It's interesting to see Rangers fans on the forum link above saying "What naughty songs did we sing?" or "I was there - I heard nothing!". I watched a lot of the game on the goggle box and "Hello Hello" was sung loud and clear by the visiting fans. They have no-one else but themselves to blame. I think what will happen here is that they will have to, very begrudgingly, adopt a different song book for Europe and for domestic matches. After all, we seem to be ok with mass displays of sectarianism in this country.

Deevers
Well, interesting that it's taken UEFA to shame The Rangers into issuing a statement and taking action. Our own dear SFA have sat in their hands with this stuff for years. Match delegates appointed who are both blind and deaf. Broadcasters who have ignored the bile over and over again. What a humiliation for them. I look forward to hearing bucket loads of praise from the media for their principled approach. Truly pathetic. One of many opportunities. For example, part of the "deal" to allow Rangers back into the league starting at the bottom instead of being kicked out completely after liquidation could have been to force them to clean up their fans' act. Instead their fans behaviour in terms of the singing actually got worse as they polluted the lower leagues for a few years.
Captain Sausage
To give them their due, that’s an excellent statement by Rangers. Thankfully most will ignore it and they’ll get a nice big stadium ban (if it isn’t in the post already). Newton51
The fans group on the board made a statement too. This is the main paragraph To be absolutely clear, songs, words and terms classed as sectarian by UEFA include ‘The Billy Boys’, any reference to “fenians” or any pejorative terms about Catholics or the Pope. The charges do not relate only to one song but to anything in the brackets above, including add ons to otherwise inoffensive songs.

Banning their support from attending away matches so that they don't get them in to further trouble so that they don't have to play their home matches behind closed doors and lose a small fortune. If they were actually serious about stopping this they would start banning supporters who turn up at Ibrox to sing these songs. If they meant it they could make a huge statement on Sunday. Actions speak louder than words and all that. But we know they won't after all, think of the future ticket income they would be losing out on. All that will happen is that they will change their songbook for Europe but Scotland will still be subjected to their usual poison. Until strict liability is introduced we won't see a change domestically and the old firm will never vote for it for obvious reasons and they will be assisted by the SFA/SPFL and the media who will continue their usual head in the sand routine.
