The bottom is Slateford Road. Wasn't too sure of the top one

Think the top one is also Slateford at top of Robertson Avenue, church is gone but you can see Johnny Hamilton's shop

Close, it's off  Springvalley Gardens.

What's the story with the Wild West place anyway, as that's a recent picture, presumably there is a history to it?

Apparently it was designed to advertise an American style furniture shop.

I think it was to promote an american carpet company that opened nearby.

It was right on a corner, opposite a wee row of shops.

If you turned right as you left the building and sharp right again, I think the street going up a hill began with a ‘B’?

Anyone know whereabouts the Haymarket Curling Rink was located before it moved to Murrayfield in 1980 ish?

It was more or less where the tram stop is now.

Anyone any idea when the shops at Haymarket across from Ryries in front of the old car park were taken away?

Just realised it was the same looking in the other direction. Just took one look at the top one and thought it was on the bridge at Albion road and Easter. Didn’t even look at the road in the distance, pretty obvious oncebyou do. Ah well, back to the training school.

Jeezo, I've never seen pics of this before. My mum's brother and his wife lived there. I can remember staying there for a few days in the very early 1960s.  My folks used to say the houses were utter death traps due to awful electrics.

Went on a wee clickabout, and ended up here;

 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martello_tower

One of only 3 in Scotland, the other 2 are in Orkney.

Then here;

https://canmore.org.uk/site/51960/edinburgh-leith-docks-martello-tower

1809. A 'Martello Tower' was erected on Mussel Cape Rocks at a cost of 17,000 pounds as part of a scheme to defend the new docks and the City of Edinburgh against possible attack during the Napoleonic Wars. The invasion never came, and the tower was left to decay until 1850 when it was renovated by the Royal Engineers and occupied by artillerymen from Leith until 1869. The Tower is now land-locked, and a key remains in the possession of Forth Ports plc.

It was a timber yard I bought my first garden shed from there.

Also the Hamilton Inn was also in that area.

The building behind and left of the clock is currently being demolished.  I have no idea what is taking its place but, if I was a betting man my money would be on flats/apartments.
