I'm guessing that's where they will be sitting for all home games against Celtic, Rangers and Hibs?

I sat above the section on saturday and what folk have to realise is that not everybody there is necessarily part of the ‘group’. What I mean by that is that its easy to criticise the group for any sectarian singing however it may not necessarily be the group that started it.

To give an example, there was a group of ‘older’ lads (talking mid-20s rather than teens) nearby who shot down a couple of younger lads when they attempted to start that we hate catholics chant.

Thats exactly the sort of policing that is needed, either by those who consider themselves part of the group or are happy to stand in the vicinity on match days for it to work.

Whilst I appreciate many find it all a bit cringeworthy, which in turn makes it easy to have a pop at them, but these sort of groups exist at the majority of clubs these days and they do add something to going to the match. Its not really fair to tar the whole group with the same brush due to a few that are hard of thinking, however if it isn’t self-policed (talking all fans collectively) then it’ll never take off.

It’s only right that The Gorgie Boys should be based in Section G. It IS the spiritual  home of Tynecastle’s signing section after all ?

It's a walk to the ground, not an offical march. Utterly desperate.

Mate, it was a bit tongue in cheek.

But there is the chance that the authorities could take a dim view of it anyway. Be careful is all.

Btw, what's the 'utterly desperate' comment for?

Don't want the laddies falling foul because they decide to walk down a road and block the traffic or something. Especially when there'll be a larger police presence than usual.

I was there, it's just a walk.....or stagger. I think the term march stemmed from some Tartan Army trips. I've 'marched' plenty times from Diggers to Tynecastle!!

Cute. Wrong tho?

G was the natural successor of the shed, N evolved in the years afterwards. I love N, it looks great from section G, and I’m delighted they both exist.

I don't think it's cringeworthy; I do try to remind myself that I was a teenager once and then (late 80s) we had one or two, er, lively songs.  I've posted earlier on the thread that I thought it was a great effort at Hamilton.  A couple of dodgy efforts at Hello Hello? Yes, but I have the feeling that will gradually die away.  However, it would be naïve to think that the section won't be closely monitored against Celtic, and that there's no point coming on here afterwards with Celtic fans whataboutery.  We know those tramps will come and sing their usual pile of shite.  The test will not to be dragged down to that level.

Think one of the things on here that irks some posters a wee bit is that the HMFCSO fella tends to concentrate on the purely positives posts on here.  If anyone criticises, no matter how gently, there's rarely a response.  Ok, he doesn't have to, but taking and acting on criticism (when it's fair) is part of development.  I think the early signs are good for the GBs and fingers crossed it continues.

If the section is meeting up to walk to the ground I hope they behave as they are still representing the club. Given the usual attitudes to our weekend opponents this could go badly wrong. Lets not give anyone an excuse to tar us with the diet hun tag.

Too long since theres been a full team song. Plenty names to play with who are characters in the squad by the looks of it now. Maybe @HMFCSSO can get the folks to create something similar.

There are literally hundreds of songs that fit well with his surname.

The “Goal Machine” song fits perfectly if you replace Rudi Skacel with Ikpeazu.

The 4 syllable surname also brings the Salvatori chant back in to play.

Not as if literally hundreds of groups of fans across Europe and wider have been doing this for decades then?

Celtic, Rangers, Motherwell among others all did it before the ‘Since 1875’ group in this country, so I don’t get the comparison.

Need to be careful how the Council perceive this. Even if it is just intended to be a group of fans walking to the game together, it’s been advertised as “a march” on the poster on social media. Maybe better removing the advert and rewording it slightly so as not to fall foul of council rules ??

North London Hibee hater, goodbye Cambridge, see you later,

A new hero's born, you've all been warned,

Uche changed the atmosphere

Centre backs all live in fear,

I could get used to this.

Scoring goals against blue, red and green,

Come to Gorgie, you'll see what I mean,

He's the beast of a striker we were all dreaming of,

if you need me you'll know where' I'll be.

Uche Ikpeazu, better than Lukaku
