If corbyn resigned tomorrow and Kier Starmer took over and announced that if in power they will immediately have a second referendum they would have a 20/30 seat majority locked up. Jan 1st 2021 means we either have every deal done or WTO terms. Boris clearly planning for no deal in 2021 even if his deal passes. *for clarity, it's been widely touted that a transitional period would need to be two years or more to get everything done. This means that it is now unable to arbitrate on any trade disputes. This means unless you are protected by a formal trade deal, you are at the mercy of any larger trading partner.
