So this entire week or pishing about in Parliament is all for nothing, because the EU remains steadfast in saying that the deal made is no open for re-negotiation.

Even if Parliament does accept May's deal now, there isn't enough time left to pass all the hundreds of bits of legislation through Parliament before we leave!

And the reason a player while playing at Tynecastle fairly recently claimed sectarianism that he wasn't an irish ******* he was Norn irish.

May has repeatedly deflected criticism of her botch job by asking parliament to indicate what it IS in favour of... yet she is effectively opposing the amendment that would facilitate the answer.   Grieve's indicative votes amendment.

Original deal defeated by huge margin

Every amendment to that deal also defeated so far

So, nothing's changed since that historic defeat of the original deal. 59 days to go.

This.  Can we call a vote of no confidence in the opposition this time?

Well its a clear position that does reflect thinking in Tory party and DUP. So fair enough for having a go at this.

Getting anything agreed with EU is another matter..

No to the current deal

No to no deal

No to Parliament being able to block no deal

Yes to removing the backstop, which the EU have explicitly ruled out

Mmm it’s gone fairly well for the government tonight. Tories held up much better than labour tonight.

So May is going to go back and get some change on backstop? Seems unlikely..........however, who the **** knows.

Parliament says no deal is not an option, not binding but still.

So an extension seems likely.

Yeah.

The real stuff will be end of next month.

May says she will talk to the EU. Admits there is a limited appetite in EU to discuss / open this.

We'll see what happens.

I wouldn't rule anything out.  Mind you, it'll be tricky.  The UK maintained that there were arrangements that could be put in place to avoid a hard border, but wouldn't make suggestions as to what they would be despite repeated requests from the EU 27.  The backstop was designed to deal with that, and deal with UK concerns to avoid something it considered worse.  Now the UK is asking the EU 27 to offer suggestions as to what alternative arrangements can be put in place.  You couldn't make it up, really.

Except didnt they knock back the amendment for an extension ??

So we are going back to discuss something that the EU has said isnt up for discussion.

Well this will end well.

And because of just how utterly shocking they are, the government get away with being mediocre at best. Hopefully there will be some appetite to negotiate from the EU. With 59 days left, it's now down to who blinks first.

The pound's just taken a wee dunt btw.

In one of the votes, tonight MP's rejected a move to delay Brexit day

Does that mean at the current time we will leave on the 29th of March as I believe no deal was the default position if the European union stick to their position that there will be no more talks especially over the backstop?

Looks like May is going to be told not to bother with her new proposals.

From the BBC website tonight

MPs have voted against a proposal to delay Brexit in order to prevent the UK leaving without a deal.

The amendment had been put forward by Labour MP Yvette Cooper, but was rejected by 23 votes.

I find it funny that people don't seem to grasp that this brinkmanship goes on to in every deal being struck from buying a car to this, I understand the magnitude of these negotiations but that's what they are, the principles are the same, neither should or would be a expected to reveal what they're actually willing to accept, the EU seem to wait untill the last moments to sign off on anything, neither side wants a no deal.

"The EU is just playing games, they'll budge!"

They haven't moved a single millimeter in two years.

The UK has been all over the shop since day one.

At present No Deal is where we heading.

But there is time for more votes to stop it. Not anything final tonight.

So the engineered no deal where we can blame it on the EU is a strong favourite now.

Whilst this is going on, the pound is falling, business are spending millions on trying to mitigate a no deal or making plans to leave, reservists are being put on standby and military bases stockpiling food, fuel and ammunition.

Hope everyone is stockpiling.
