Almost.

A lot of Tories, senior ones inc, seem to be making the manifesto the fall guy for all their failings. In a way that seems to suggest the manifesto created itself. An unstoppable, autonomous being that ruined them.

The truth is that May and her inner clique of advisors created the manifesto. Cabinet secretaries of state had very little or no input. Some only found out about policy decisions when the manifesto was released.

The advisors are gone. The manifesto is being blamed. Who's next for the chopping block? The ****ing Downing St cat?

Corbyn and Tory Arrogance are too blame he completely blindsided them with his manifesto and his ability to actually talk!

They've got Sturgeon and indyref2 to thank for just about holding onto power with the vote here increasing.

They got what they deserved.

Who is it that loves bringing up indy?

It may be on the back burner but its not going anywhere.

THATS what the yoons & lizard voters are really afraid of.

I welcome a left leaning socialist Labour to batter the lizards into submission. Be better for society as a whole but how long would that ride last before the in-fighting starts & the Blairites call for Corbyn's head again? Then the lizards are back, then the Scots reject them again, then indy is pushed to the fore once more.

The FM has went dark on it but hey, was she not 'told' she should shut up about it & 'get on with the day job'?

Now that she has the MSM (& some on here) are ones continually banging on about it.

What are you/they keekin about???

Could we stop with all the class warfare keek please?

Even some sore of basic acknowledgement that the money to fund your socialist fantasies will come from those you so despise would be progress.

One think as sure as not is that the left is utterly incapable of paying for what it wants itself

That'll be because the right is far too busy giving away billions to billionaires and funding nuclear bombs and foreign wars.

Theres plenty of money sloshing around if they concentrate on what us human beings actually need instead of worrying about wiping out the planet of following Trump into foreign wars that has heehaw to do with us.

Fantasies indeed. & you claim to work for the NHS???

What an absolutely crass post. You say to stop the class war keek (sic) then go on to state, in a round about way, that your class isn't prepared to pay a few extra shekels for "socialist fantasies". Meanwhile, at the other end of the "class war", the poor, elderly, disabled and infirm are paying for your right wing utopia with their lives.

"need versus want" indeed.......

sadly neither socialist and capitalist models do not recognise this.

What do we actually "need" ? that the state should provide?

Most things that I have I don't need- TV, sky, wine, a microwave , a toaster, 3 pairs of shoes for my one pair of feet, a washing machine ( I can do it by hand- the machine is a luxury)

hell, at uni we didn't even have central heating, shared rooms and had no TV. nor did we have a couch-  all luxuries ....

How quickly we forget our roots.

Not really-

my working class roots were grafting, self reliance and certainly my gran would rather have been dead than to ask for a handout- too much pride.

Didn't have much, so went without.

Couldn't afford something - saved for it or didn't get it.

Never smoked or drank- as it was expensive

Never been abroad ( apart from with granda the HGV driver on his long distance trips before Newlands went under)

Wife the same- came from single parent family on council estate.

Her mum went out to work. brought the kids up right and they both got degrees.

That is my working class

Not sure what yours is......

I too can look up at the big mansions and Maldives holidays, and I'm aware that if I want them I could get them, but don't want to see them taken off others so I could get more I have not earned

Its not Zimbabwe...

No surprise with that answer. Dripping with contempt for your fellow human being.

Oh I dont know, how about enough food to eat so you dont have to visit a food bank, a decent home where your not taxed for having a 2nd bedroom, some dignity when you actually need help, jobs that pay more than the minimum wage etc.?

Its no coincidence that Billionaires have grown at the same time as the chronic poor and almost as fast since the Austerity programme has been introduced.

Id suspect that the SNP would lose seats, but not near a wipeout.

I'm not in the country at the moment so just getting reports of the unrest in London, but I can't help but feel that something is changing.

Perhaps a simple slogan such as "For the many, not the few" resonates in these times.

I voted yes, and probably would do again given the chance, but in the meantime I would welcome a Corbyn led Labour and the manifesto it proposed.

I'd like to see that manifesto go further and tackle the inequities within the (unwritten) British constitution.

Boris, you're smart enough to know that Independence is utter horseshit and won't do a single thing to help working class Scots. The SNP are a horrible, worthless, self indulgent distraction to the real issues of ordinary people. It's a pipe dream, a fantasy, utter manure.

Me and some mates discussed Corbyn a couple of years ago and what the effect it would have up here. Frankly we were in despair over a  cult taking over Scotland which paid lip service to social justice in order to attract the gullible. And Labour getting a real dyed in the wool old Trot which so  many of the 'Labour left me I didn't leave Labour' brigade were screaming for hadn't made any impact. We thought we were well and truly fecked.

I do not believe Corbyn and McDonnell are fit and proper people to run a local darts club never mind the country. But if they can galvanise the Labour vote, get people thinking about real social justice that can be paid for without bankrupting the country and in effect hurting the very people they profess to care about then all to the good. I want the distraction of the SNP wiped out so we can get back to proper choices for Scotland and for Britain.

I'm afraid people would vote even for Boris to keep out Corbyn. The Tories got 42% of a large turnout with a lame duck leader to keep the old Trot out and they didn't even get much of a UKIP dividend while Corbyn got the young out at last.

If Labour are to win, they need a truly credible leader.

I agree, I think enough people will bite their lip and force Boris over the line. Corbyn and O'Donnell have far too shady a past for me and the thought of them being in charge terrifies me. I don't trust them on security and I think they'd get the public Finances into an even bigger mess than now.

Any one of Kier Starmer, Chukka Ummuna or Dan Jarvis would get me voting Labour. Not that I would ever vote Tory - I never have nor ever will. Grew up in Lanarkshire under Thatcher so put off for life.

Issue I have with that hypothesis is they'd lose Labour votes and gain us little. It's a reverse back to Miliband and a squeeze by the Tories.

I think for many Corbyn has detoxified himself. His economic position is based on the post-war idea of Keynesian economics and investing in infrastructure, green energy, housing and research and development. It's designed to spur on economic growth. Not continue this death by 1000 cuts austerity.

This tower fire and adherence to the ? before people is a result of years of austerity and the mindset it creates.

I don't see in Ummuna or Cooper a way forward from there.

Independence was attractive post 2010 election in that it was a genuine alternative.

Corbyn is, Imo, a breath of fresh air. I have always liked his politics, but was not sure he had leadership ability. In the GE campaign he played a blinder, Imo.

Labour seems to have grasped that and now they have to build on it a progress.

The SNP won't disappear... How future Westminster govt approach the constitution could aid that though. Again all Imo.

So how do you see May being forced into an October election then?

My point is about the more honourable side to Northern Ireland politics and in particular the DUP. I say the DUP while happy to accept the extra money for N.Ireland and the general boost for the "poor hard done by unionists", they will choose honour and ditch May as a result a failings in managing the Grenfell fire. Just how I see the future.

They can also use that to strengthen own position in N.Ireland. Reality of the power sharing agreement would also tend to them pulling out. Get the money first though.

The DUP won't interfere in who leads the Tories as there are enough problems for Arlene Foster over the same thing. That's why the Assembly collapsed.
