What has that to do with being unable to differentiate between the eurozone, the EU etc?

Who gives a toss about it ?

I see that lots of people still don't understand that the EU, the Eurozone and the European Convention on Human Rights are all separate entities.

Well two are, one is a subgroup of one of the two.

The Eurozone is a grouping within th EU.

The ECHR is separate of those two.

I think there is a focus on them as people view it as unfair. I suppose there is always going to be an element of jealously that some people are able to effectively opt out of performing their societal duties to no real detriment.

All parties, but especially Labour and SNP bang on about wanting to live in a fair society. People see it as unfair that some don't have to work.

There's a lot of unfairness out there though, like the example I gave where employers pay wages that people can't live on, leaving the tax payer to take up the slack with tax credits and what have you. The employer claims he can't make a profit without doing this so in effect you're paying his bloody profit! How's that fair? Why isn't this the example people keep turning to?

Anyway, I know what you're saying, but it boils my piss that the situation is what it is - make it worthwhile for people to work and watch them get motivated!

Society's ****ed, and it's not the fault of those at the bottom of the ladder

Great, more SNP MP's being emptied.

Bring it on.

If Tories  keep on closing and selling off public services like Fire stations and some parts of the NHS down south there will be even more Tories emptied.

You could not make this up, i mean these rats are selling off and closing  down public service related services and then selling them off to their rich mates on the snide .

Corporate state controlled  vandalism.

Fire station shut by Boris Johnson to be turned into luxury flats by company run by Tory donor

One of 10 fire stations shut by Boris Johnson while he was Mayor of London is to be converted into luxury flats ? by a company whose directors include a Tory donor. Belsize fire station, which was closed in 2014 after 100 years of service to the local community, will be turned into 16 apartments, [?...

So May has previously came out and stated that there is no magic money tree for the NHS, welfare education and social housing  but can find ?1.5 billion to bribe the DUP into a coalition just to cling on and remain in power.??

So the future of the UK is now in the hands of a tiny group of neanderthals who have successfully extorted a small fortune from a government so desperate to cling to power that they are prepared to jeopardise peace in NI as a price worth paying. Does anyone still believe parliamentary 'democracy' is a viable mechanism for changing society for the better?

Its a fecking public outrage that  Theresa May finds one billion pounds so she can be propped up in government by a group of people who want to turn the clock back to 1950 and hang the likes of Stefan Kiszko, ban abortions, throw gays in prison and ban gay rights.

Strong and stable??

She also sees putting the Friday agreement in seriously jeopardy as nothing more than a means to an end, that means and end being saving her parties skin. Is this the kind of person and party that we want running  this country and dragging it  back to the 1800s??

Strong and stable?? ,  more like wrong and feeble.

Seems fair, i mean does that mean if Scotland and Wales came a knocking on Mays door for money that  magic money tree would then be skint????

?400 million motorway Belfast
?150 million on broadband
?200 million for health fund
?100 million for education
?100 million for Ireland to wipe debts
?50 million for mental health
?500 million shared housing and education

Quite a windfall to Ireland and extra 10 votes for the cons.

In two years time Arlene foster can come back to Downing Street to ask for even more money.

Could the SNP not have agreed to work with the minority Tory Government, for the benefit of all in the UK, and in the process pocket an extra ?1.5 billion, or more, for the benefit of Scotland alone?

Yes. This goes to show why closing off avenues of discussion in politics is bloody daft.

It's not though.

The Greens backed an SNP budget in return for halving a cut to local government budgets. Is that a bribe or negotiated support?

I think the SNP would be daft not to do it. They claim they exist to 'stand up for Scotland'. So left/right should go out the window. Imagine they demanded HS2 to Edinburgh, extra money for schools and a seat at the Brexit table.

If it's all for Scotland they are daft not to look to offer support.

Few thoughts on this deal:

1. It's not a failure or breach of Barnet. Barnet is based on "core" spending. Core means services provided by Whitehall. So the extra money to NI does not incur the consequentials. Therefore all this "Barnet Betrayal" stuff is a false grievance.

2. The SNP are a party of nation before political policy. If they wanted more cash for Scotland and say a seat at the Brexit table why not back a supply deal with May? That would be in the Scottish interest more than sitting on the sideline.

3. The 13 Scots Tories will need to make a quick impact here. A few maiden speeches saying "if NI gets more pounds Scotland should too" makes political sense. Added to that it's a hung parliament and 12 backbench votes which have to be earned by the government are invaluable now. Afterall, the SNP will cite the reasons they do to not get a deal themselves in point 2 to vote against their budget here.

4. This shows how we need to amend the electoral system to PR. The system has produced a majority once in 3 elections. People are increasingly divided. A more consensual system is being shown to work here.

5. The DUP now need to go back to Stormont and get their own house in order with SF. They've got ?1bn in the bank but need a government if they're to spend any of it.

The last point is the most pertinent. There will be even more pressure on the Shinners now especially when the failure of their abstention policy is never more apparent.

Tories and DUP voted to maintain the cap on the emergency service workers pay today, forcing it through parliament.

?1billion for the DUP and ?82million for The Queen this week but not one extra penny for the lads and lasses saving lives every day.
