The health secretary never said the words “watch her tone” he said “she should take a leaf out of the Shadow Secretary’s text book in terms of tone”

If you or anyone is going to quote someone get it right first.

He IMPLIED it and no matter the spin from Tory apologists  he might have well just said it,

Piers Morgan is usually not one i listen tno but he has been bang on in pulling up the Tories on their utter shambles  of their handling of this pandemic. Could you imagine if this was a Labour government just now.

Oh and this point scoring is another Tory cop out to divert or take the spotlight  on them.

Everything they have done to date concerning the PPE to the NHS is a POLITICAL choice,  front line NHS staff and those people dying because of the shambolic handling of PPE is a POLITICAL  government policy choice, no hiding place there.

So point scoring in my eyes is holding this bunch of utter clown to account.

He inferred it, and Dr Khan certainly thinks that was what he meant:

Instead of answering the question, he complained about her tone.

No other way about it.

Quote what he said and do it accurately. The words you pair want to spread were not what he said.
You’ve lost any impetus in try to put him down when you don’t quote exactly what he said as did the Daily Mail and other media outlets.
It’s typical bad reporting looking for sensationalism.

Snp this Tory that it’s chronic man.

It’s pishy. If you accept the tories have fell well short, particularly for a country of our wealth, you then must accept Scottish government policy and Westminster government policy have not been so drastically different as to have made a significant difference on either side of the border.

Lost any impetus , seriously, you do realise that its you that has lost all impetus on your desperate  defending of Hancock. He chose his words very carefully ,and he DID in an indirect way ,while you like it or not ,insinuated for her to watch her tone, what other way can anyone take that. He was seriously put on the spot and go angry, and he showed a side of his true nature.

It is. I agree with you. It’s just riles me people don’t actually listen to or read the words and follow the crowd in throwing stones.
As an aside I think the Government were slow in reacting to this Pandemic. It could well have saved lives if they reacted quicker. We will no doubt find out in the fullness of time.

'It could well have'......apologist of the highest rank for this government if you only think 'could well have saved lives' is accurate

The governments failures have caused the deaths of thousands..get that thousands and there is no could well have about it.

Stop taking party views and just deal with the facts

Fact the government were slow and knew they were slow to react so tried to cover their backsides with advance promises not here today promises..everything was by the end of nest week next month etc etc

They have twisted stats to try and make themselves appear 'better'..I mean how is it testing reached 100,000 on the very last day of their pledge and since then it has been no where near being reached...I call that lying to the public. (Doncaster may have something to learn from them)

Fact they cost the lives of many with the lack of protective clothing for those in need of such, never mind the time taken to deliver it and to the right places

Fact their policies have failed to truly contain the virus

Too late to stop flights in and out, a failure to test arrivals or order them in quarantine, Too late to take action re lockdown when the evidence was clear weeks before....a failure to test until it was brought to a wider public how little they were doing

All of the above is the fault of the government of the day who happen to be the Tory party and as such must take the responsibility.

Would it have been different with another party in power..who knows? but the question is irrelevant as they were not

Cant we leave all this stuff until we’re back? Scoring political points doesn’t sit right with me atm.

Unfortunately we cannot, because they are abusing the powers given them in the wake of this crisis to further enrich their insider pals.

UK government 'using pandemic to transfer NHS duties to private sector'

Doctors, campaign groups, academics and MPs raised the concerns about a “power grab” after it emerged on Monday that Serco was in pole position to win a deal to supply 15,000 call-handlers for the government’s tracking and tracing operation.

They said the health secretary, Matt Hancock, had “accelerated” the dismantling of state healthcare and that the duty to keep the public safe was being “outsourced” to the private sector.

In recent weeks, ministers have used special powers to bypass normal tendering and award a string of contracts to private companies and management consultants without open competition.

Handcock the puppet of those powerful healthcare multinationals who want all aspects of the NHS in their hands through the trojan horse called privatisation.

JustinZ is bang on with his post on the subject.

Going back to his  underhand and sneaky response being seriously put  on the spot by Dr Roseana Allin Khan  in Parliament. What we seen there was him  demanding obedience and compliance, just like Starmer gives.

MANCOCK was  utterly disgusting there, displaying the arrogance and sexist gaslighting that all frustrated middle management wankers display when they see that nobody gives into their phallic dreams of control freakery.

The whiny little worm squealed  like a rat in an iron box.

She is now probably in danger of losing her job, due to actually questioning the government.

I do hope I am wrong.

This doesn't even cover the half of it. Many of, if not all these companies are Tory donors or their senior personnel are. Some like Serco have already been convicted of defrauding the government but here we are inviting them back for more and not even bothering with a tendering process. They would have to be delighted that the government's mishandling of this "science" led response to the pandemic afforded them such opportunities. They couldn't have done this on purpose, could they?

Three Tory MPs including the odious Nadine Dorries have been caught sharing a tweet from a far-right activist which features a heavily re-edited video of Sire Keir Starmer, which appears to show him making excuses for the lack of prosecution of grooming gangs.

Keir is, in fact, listing reasons why the law was changed to avoid the failings he is describing.

All of them have deleted their re-tweet and one of them has gone so far as to delete her entire Twitter account.

No public apologies yet, though.

The thing about posting lies... Is it gets into the mainstream and folk believe that there's no smoke without fire. Which achieves the desired result. Apologies are just meaningless.

That's something out of the Trump book of bullshit.

The Tories and Republicans clearly have the same advisors. Their reaction to covid 19 has been almost identical.

Also, with Trump spreading lies about Joe Scarborough (and Obama's birthplace, anti-fascist protesters and now Faucci), they have the same tactics - dish dirt, true or not, about opponents they view as a threat to their far-right, racist views.

We're opening up Britain to those countries who will give us a trade deal.

The Gammonati will shit themselves when they realise the numbers of 'immigrants' that will be inbound as part of a deal.

That’s how they started the anti Jewish thing in Nazi Germany. Constant lies and fear mongering to get the masses to agree there’s a problem to solve, with violence a possible solution. They did the same with gipsys, homosexuals and mentally and physically disabled people. All designed to have a ruling pure, white race.

The world said it would never happen again. We’ll see.

Seriously,  the current Tory PM"s  "BAD" isn"t an electable policy.

You talking about their last set of "BAD" before the last election then. You do realise that this time around their BAD is  a diffrent set of BAD. Its caused  1000s of deaths from COVID due to an utter fool of a tory PM who dithered, lied and GAGGED his scientific advisors on speaking out on their true feelings  of the handling of his COVID response , right from the start he was lying.

Try telling that to those friends  and family members of those that died of this virus  who also blame him.

The Sunday Times reports that Boris Johnson wants to CUT social distancing to just 1m if scientific evidence can be found to JUSTIFY the move.

Now deciding what you want to do , then trying to find evidence to justify it is the exact OPPOSITE of his mantra call from day one of "following the science".  I would not be so eager to dismiss the possibility there is  a high %   of the UK population  that are never going to forget  his handling of this COVID 19 outbreak since day one and will vote  with that still in their minds at the next GE.

FFS..

The UK imposed its coronavirus lockdown too late in a decision that "cost a lot of lives", a top scientific advisor to the government said today.

Prof John Edmunds, a member of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE), said the issue was his main regret in the handling of the crisis.
