True . No way will an election be called . Not in their interests to do so but it’s is in the countries but Ofcourse that won’t bother them .

It's just the way our system is set up and, bearing in mind James Callaghan and Gordon Brown both became PM without winning an election (then each failed to win one) I don't know if one party is any worse than another in that regard - party first, country second.....or third. The argument is that a party is elected to govern, not a specific individual.

The irony being that Boris Johnson and many Tory MPs peddled the line that country DID choose to elect him rather than the Tory party. Following that thinking, they (folk like Dorries and Rees-Mogg) should logically now support a general election.......but they won't. See earlier comment about putting the party first!

Very touching. No doubt they will be able to sell image rights to “Hello” magazine for £1m, which should just about cover the cost of the canapés.

You are correct, someone should tell BJ that though as he thinks every one of the 14 million who voted Tory in 2019 did so for him alone. Trumpian thinking that.

IF they can write off £4billion stolen by fraudulent furlough claims and £37billion pished up the wall on test&trace which utterly failed to halt the spread of covid or prevent a 2nd national lockdown, I'm sure they'll just write off the overpaid benefits, right?

Unsurprising the efficiency they recoup the money owed from the wee man. By spreading the cost across all claimants. Shame they don't apply the same principals to big corporations.

I don't think there's any way a serious politician's going to step up, it's going to be a sacrificial bam to take the heat in the impossible role of sorting this mess out.

Channel 4 reporter was so pissed off with him last night she asked to cut back to the studio. When they returned to her she had moved onto a set of steps (wherr he  followed her to) and she was then told by the security guard to get the **** off the stairs :laugh2:. She was raging.

Wow

They’re just repeating their headline from the Thatcher departure. Lazy stuff.

Would they rather that a disrespectful, lying, chaotic man like Johnson was able to blunder on by just constantly repeating his lies?

One example - Johnson constantly claimed, in Parliament and elsewhere, that he was funding the building of over 40 new hospitals. During PMQs this week, a Labour MP pointed out that 2 of those new hospitals were to be in his constituency. One of the “new” hospitals was already there, having been built in the 1800s, the other was built in the early 1900s. They were only going to be refurbished or upgraded, not built from scratch as Johnson was repeatedly claiming.

Johnson lies as easily as he breathes and isn’t a fit and proper person for PM of the UK.
