An opposition day debate in the HoC on the appointment of Lebedev to the HoL.

He was obviously listening to the proceedings, as he texted the following:

Who to believe?

Of course he's listening! He'll be listening in to Downing Street, the HoC toilets, private MP chambers, the bars MPs hang out in...

Indeed. And how utterly depressing. But it’s “what we voted for”, seemingly. 🙄

Sadly not far from the truth.

They'll probably have shares in the energy companies though and of course the ubiquitous donations to the Tory party coffers👍

Are we now going to see all the tweets between Lebedev and Johnson?

Aye but got Brexit done.  The vaccine.  First country out of the pandemic that's still on.  Getting on with the job.  War on... somewhere else.  Leading the global response.

The default response today was to say "there's a cost of living crisis to sort out".

And who is it that's making an arse of that again?

The cost of living crisis has absolutely nothing to do with anything that's happened in the twelve years they've been in power.

It's all because of Gordon Brown/Covid/The War *delete as applicable

This Junta is like a cat with 9 lives. Get Brexit Done (but don’t and never will), predicted Brexit repercussions become reality and along comes COVID to distract the hard of thinking. Next is the PPE and chumocracy scandal followed by Partygate and this time the Get Out Of Jail Card is the war in Ukraine and the cost of living crisis.

Looking at how frail Her Majesty is, no doubt the poor old girl will croak just as another scandal that would normally unseat a PM or government, will allow them to distract yet again and get off the hook. “A Nation in Mourning” the probable snappy phrase deployed by Tory HQ, to suggest to the masses that there are (yet more) important things to focus on.

That would leave another 5 lives to use up between now and the next GE.

So then, to the best of his ability, he told us that Brexit was a great thing. We would all benefit greatly from it.

If he can't, to the best of his ability, know what an illegal gathering at his place of residence is, under his own rules, how can we believe that his ability was good enough to assess the impact of Brexit upon the UK?

In fact, how can we trust his ability to do anything well except lie to us, but in such a way that he can try to backtrack with lawyer jargon?

It's not an obsession he's a lying barsteward. Putting aside the BBC witch hunt and the widespread disgust of the general population for a moment he is also significantly at odds with a large slice of the party who abhor this type of behaviour - he needs to go as soon as an opportune moment is reached.

It'll be after the May elections, they don't want a new leader tainted with the inevitable fall out, Boris will carry the can

Yeah and he made amends by abolishing the Covid restrictions. Have you been frozen in carbonite for the past month?

I'm currently listening to Stuart Maconie's audiobook 'The Nanny State Made Me'.

It's basically chapter after chapter of the Tories selling off, deregulating or underfunding public services like the NHS, Education, Parks, Libraries, Buses, Trains, Energy....

The common theme is run public services into the ground, make it more palatable to sell off then privatise the profits and nationalise the losses.

The NHS and the BBC are the 2 big ones left now. Those are harder to break up but their media chums will soften the public up.

Anyway,  here's a pop song to lighten the mood.

He gave up on trying to control the virus before everyone else, therefore all the lies, backhanders, broken laws, and lost billions don't count and are forgiven.

I think you need to take the responses and rationale from some posters in context.

There's a rump of posters on here who, if you were being unkind, you would call flag shaggers. British Nationalist types.

Here's the delicious irony of it all. Boris Johnson and his criminal cabal are asset stripping the UK, they've removed your right to freedom of movement, they're in the process of stripping away your right to protest, They're removing the protections you have under the ECHR legislation. They've tanked the economy to keep out a few brown faces.

All the while these posters are posting the smileys and the nonsense their man is running the country they profess to love so much into the deck.

They can't see it. It would be hilarious if the subject matter wasn't so serious.

They're not frozen in carbonite, they're frozen in the 1850's.
