There's so much more to pick apart in that collage:

* King Prince Charles should be spitting feathers that his image has been used in a party political piece.

* Apart from the Red Arrow jets, one of the others is an American made F35, the other is a Eurofighter Typhoon - a celebration of the success of European collaboration.

* Somewhere in the background they've effed around with the union flag when only a fortnight ago, they had their panties in a bunch over messing with the union flag.

* Now women featured.

* England's football team there to represent the 'power' of the UK. There you have it, Scotland, Wales and NornIron. Not even a half decent version of the England team but I'm certain the likes of Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford won't be too happy about being used to promote the Tories.

* And there's more...

Its worth noting that this controversial montage is to remind us that we're the SECOND most powerful country in the world.   Presumably the USA is the first.

So countries  1 and 2 in the power stakes just happen to be  numbers 1 and 2 in the debt stakes too.     Purely a coincidence though .....  :whistling:

It's berserk on a number of levels.  I wonder if he informed Tory HQ that he was going to virtually disown the party and admit their national performance has been shit when he was provided with whatever financial and campaigning support he gets for his local election.

Was he distancing himself from the party and portraying himself as his own individual man when he won the last two mayoral terms at a time when the Tories weren't quite as ludicrous and unelectable?  I think not.

Where did the fantasy notion that the UK was the 2nd most powerful nation in the world come from ?

Has Jacob Rees Mogg been having those zulu war dreams again ?.

That was the first thing that I noticed and was bewildered by.

The UK, due to cuts in defence spending, will be struggling to be in the top 5 at best.

Even the notion of measuring supposed national power by associating military power to the areas of commerce,  sport and the monarchy is absolutely insane.  It's like some deranged version of Top Trump cards.

UNITED KINGDOM

Monarch.  German/Greek.  Quite old.  Married twice.  1 or 2 sons.  3/10.

Prime Minister. British/American/Indian.  Very rich.  Richer wife.  Adidas trainers.  1/10.

Football team.  Holds world record of number of times favourites to win tournaments.  Not great at penalties.  2/10.

Business & Commerce.  Various free trade deals of no value whatsoever.  Exports money and refugees.  1/10.

Military.  Compact army.  Occasional navy.  No bad air power when navy occasionally out and about.  Nuclear capability in theory.  4/10.

Seems that the Rwandan government has sold off about 70% of the houses built to contain the UK's deported migrants.

I've seen some interesting comments about the timing of the events being the most important (and so far, ignored) aspect of this case :  it has to do with legislation that was recently passed that made  sending dick pics a criminal offence. Lots of comments saying this is why he isn't being suspended - he'd be subject to a full enquiry and this would likely be exposed.  Looks like we'll never know the truth of it now, but make no mistake, he was no ordinary MP so for him to "chuck it it" is very significant .

Rwanda showing  the Tories what free enterprise with a social conscience looks like.     🤣

Presumably James Not-So-Cleverly forgot to insist on a clause in the contract which  prevented the houses being sold to locals for x number of months ......

He'll still be sitting pretty on his MP's salary and generous expenses allowance until he slinks out wit his tail between his legs when Parliament shuts down before the Genital Erection.

Presumably, he'll find a cushy post-governmental job a little harder to come by now that everyone knows he's a massive bell-end and a significant security risk.

Just a wee note for added clarity.

There's two elements to this result. The bigger seems to be that the Rwandan government have figured that the UK will never get round to sending vast numbers of migrants on to Rwanda, so they're not going to need those buildings for the migrants. The second one is the suggestion that Braverman, Notso and anyone else involved in getting the 'scheme' this far haven't catered for a clawback of the money in the event of them arsing it up.

Maybe it's a clever ruse to prevent the number of Rwandans it has to accept as refugees.

As well as the accommodation all being flogged off,  the UK gvt are having severe trouble securing a carrier to provide the flights.

Including,  it seems,  RwandAir.  The national carrier of Rwanda.

It's almost as if it was always a shit idea and waste of money.

Labour are committed to stopping the scheme.  Even if the fabled flights begin in the spring / summer / autumn / decade / epoch,  they'll be stopping again almost immediately.

Yet it remains a thing.

Just because the UK government is happy to breach international law, doesn't mean airlines are.

Much the same as when they announced they'd be "pushing back" the boats in the channel. The navy told them to get bent and point blank refused to break the law because it would make some gammons happy.

Waiting for them to separate the English Channel away from the governance of international maritime law by declaring it a safe body of water.

Indeed. 😃 The Tory publicity machine will probably spin it as   "Sunak challenges other countries to match the UK's generous increase in its  foreign aid budget"

Anyone got stats on the number of affordable social houses that have been built in the UK in 2023  ?  It would be beyond embarrassing  if the number is dwarfed by Rwanda's ?

Not to worry though, the new Tory election slogan should be appearing soon - "Get Social  Housing done" :whistling:

The RAF will also refuse, as the service people could be prosecuted under human rights laws and/or war crimes tribunals.

Same way the Navy told the Government to feck off about pushing the boats back.

Service personnel being ordered to break international law.

One of our local MSPs (a list one) has been sending out flyers in our area.

All very nicely laid out telling me what they have been up to, only thing missing is the party that she represents. Not a single mention!

I've had one from Daniel Johnson MSP with no party affiliation stated - at least not obviously.

Quick Google and it turns out he's a Labour chap.
